    Doesn't really answer the question.

the airbag comes out from the bottom trim, handle has no effect on the operation. a deployed airbag is violent and will break/bend plastic. how do I know? I googled image searched "tacoma pillar airbag" If you dont trust strangers on a forum, maybe email the company themselves.

The associated risks are discussed and dissected thoroughly in the insane thread I linked to above.

I know I said I was done here, but my new goal is to send this thread to the dumbgeon. If I can save even one person from dealing with the madness that was and likely still is the end user experience, maybe my past challenges with substance abuse, coprophilia, big wall climbing, whale corpse flensing, the noodle incident, green nail polish, not liking avocados, and more, will be forgiven.

Here’s some additional thread-sourced pictures of KTJO quality and some other things archived on my phone.

Feels like ‘old times’ on this thread. I see that my pic is still being used in the KTJO 4x4 gallery to push the handles. Great use of the handle among other things.

This is what @Bertw192 looked like that time he was drunk and getting it on and almost puked on his wife.

An airbag in the same pillar as the second gen doesn't mean that it's the same airbag or that it operates in an identical manner. There's a lot of real wild assumptions going here and people not thinking through the potential consequences of their actions.

"trust me bro" isn't a phrase I'll potentially trust my life to.

I waited 13 months to receive mine after being on the initial pre-order. I installed it right after receiving it. That was two or three years ago I guess? I use it every time I get in and out of the truck. It's been great and much better than grabbing the steering wheel. It's higher than steering wheel so it gives you a better leverage point for getting in. Some people in this thread are just teenagers, so it's not a big deal for them. I used to be a teenager.... but in the 1960's.

It's a discussion about a product. You offended that someone is talking about it in the negative?

You said what you wanted to say and that's fine. When you keep saying it over and over my mother would have said you sounded like a broken record. And she would have been right.

I'm honestly a bit confused by where you're coming from. All I've had in this thread is a back and forth discussion where I'm asking questions.

And I didn't get a satisfactory answer to any of them. In fact, I didn't make any point until the post you quoted.

... Because the airbag does not inflate from behind of the A-pillar trim, if it did it would blow the A-pillar trim into your face in an accident. It inflates from the outer edge of the trim along the weatherstripping. Just like the passenger side. This video shows how the A-pillar trim is unaffected and stays intact. Adding the assist handle does not impact airbag function.
