Fun little electrical project, adding some USB A ports to the dash. Love not having cables in the way of the shifter!

We’ve had some very interesting conversations about metal corrosion and chemistry but I didn’t see a reply to your question.
The doors, or at least mine, are steel.

CURT Mfg front receiver, anti-theft cages around cats
Installed the Curt Mfg front receiver on my new 2023.
It's a perfect fit as a bolt-on to the frame.
I had to remove the tow hook and the air dam, and stowed these in the attic in case I ever sell the truck (very doubtful).

This gives me a front mounted receiver expressly for maneuvering trailers into tight spaces.
It avoids the endless marriage wreckers of doing it from the rear hitch.

    Steel “magnetic”.
    Aluminum “isn’t”.

I find naive to have become a variable now in the “let’s see how this turns out” equation; however, stupid seems to be a constant.

Do you know if the receiver would interfere with the TRD Pro skid plate?

Should’ve looked for the 8-17 HP proven gain. (I just made that up but it’s Friday and I found it funny.)

I intended to return to it within an hour. I lost track of time ...

Amazing how much damage CLR can do to steel.

No idea if the TRD skid is any different than the factory one I have.
My trim is SR, lowest trim level.
I do not off-road, so a more beefy plate wasn't on my list of needs.

Default plate, if any, is a lightweight splashguard that only covers engine. A middle thin plate covers read of engine.

TRD plate is 1/4 in thick aluminum covering full engine that does protect against impact.

I’ve always been impressed with the effects of MAF cleaner. Ok, I’ve used it twice. Once on the MILs Avalon that was having accel/idle problems IIRC and it resolved (dissolved? see what I did there.) the issue. The other time was just because I was bored (reference earlier “stupid” remark) and the vehicle (another Toyota - maybe Previa) ran better.

I was just laying under the taco looking at the mounting area for my running boards and noticed I have 2 cats. That means I can put dual cat back exhaust on this beotch. Who’s done it? No. I don’t wanna just exchange one muffler for another. I want true duals. Gimme the rub oh TW brain trust

Only true duals I recall is a brilliant welder dude crafted some up and ran them out the side of the truck - actually forward section of the truckbed IIRC (between the cab and the wheel). The guy was a master, cutting a bunch of pie wedge shapes and welding them together. Labor cost alone probably what we paid for the entire Taco would be my guess. But it was quite impressive. I’ll keep searching a post a link if/when I find them.

    EDIT: Found it
