I wonder what’s best and most cost effective. Theres many options

-glare reducing shield to go on LED bar at front roof rack fairing

-or, driving lights, which could be put in ditch bracket position

-or, bumper mounted lights, whether that be pods or bars like what ARB sells to be put on their bull bars

actual ditch lights might be positioned better placed in front steel bumper

For my application I barely had any extra slack especially the on and off switch. I have 2 inches of slack for the switch and about 4 for the wires going to the light. This I believe is because my battery is located on the passenger side where as on Tacos its on the driver's side.

I used a self tapper to attach the relay. I agree that the connection is very weak. Might see if I can bend the connectors to give them more grab. To over come it I put my relay at a 90° angle

I generally flash them with the bar. They generally get the message in a second or two.:rofl::rofl:

Roof light bars are a waste at the end of the day as far as I'm concerned even with mine slightly recessed the glare in a full driving lense set up is just to much glare. Spots in a ditch light position is my most used driving light. It widens with high beam spread perfect. I'm debating an s2 or c2 mounted off the front of the rack for a ditch light option. I have s2's off the back of my rack for work/chase lights and they would be excellent for a true ditch light

I'm glad it mostly worked well for you. But that's sort of my point - you can't please everyone with a so-called "universal" fit solution.

I'm very adept at wiring and such, despite loathing it, so I'd rather they just supply some of the harder to find components and let me crimp and assemble everything to the exact length I want. It would also give flexibility, like switching the ground side of the relay as I mentioned before.

I suppose most people would rather just stuff an extra couple feet of wiring somewhere, but that's not my style.

I vote for stealth or bumper mount bar or whatever else facing forward, plus someone needs to come up with a slick side mirror mount or partial replacement for the mirror with some bright floods. I really don't like the hood brackets.

Amber will be less light bright at night. Anything with a more blueish hue will be more intense at night due to our scotopic vision as humans.

There’s a couple on Etsy that go on fender, bumper, and maybe mirror.

I have the DD 30" combo beam led bar in the bumper, below the center grill, in my 19 Sport. I also have a small bar in the hood scoop. This was the first vehicle I put a bar on... Now all my vehicles have bars. There is no replacement for more light. We live in the country in Michigan, and drive to Northern Ontario Canada regularly. Having those bars help see animals, road debris etc... from a loooooong way off. You just have to be more cognizant of the bar when you meet oncoming traffic, and when coming up on same direction traveling vehicles. get your bar off, then turn the high beams off. I do not regret getting the combo pattern at all. Having more light in the ditches is worth it. It really doesnt limit how far the front pattern reaches out, to me. Ski

I have been running my yellow lightbar in traffic to be honest. Even gone past Po-Po with it shining right on them, no issues. I think i have been highbeamed once. I feel better about running amber/yellow vs a white one. No regrets with going with the yellow/amber one. Mines just a cheapy open box Nilight model deal from Amazon. Love the thing, one of my favorite mods ive done.

What do you think of the Amber driving beam on the DD stealth bar? I have a ‘23 Tacoma and I’m thinking of running that exact same setup to get thru the rain and fog up here in the PNW.

Way to much uplight for effective use in fog. I had 2 driving lenses and 3 sae fog on my old bar and I had the same issue with my ss3 pro fog lights. Changed to baja designs sae fog lights which are a far better fog light.

The bar doesn't have a cut off so it doesn't work that great in the fog. If the roads are wet or snowy, the light bar is amazing. You won't be disappointed. The picture is with light bar and fogs on with the headlights off.

Light bar pattern vs fog lights.

This was with the bar mounted outside of the bumper when it was hidden is was frankly useless.

    20220505_154906.jpg

I ended up changing everything over the baja designs with far better results
