Anybody know of a place i may be able to come across a good n cheap ecu for an 04 5vz 2wd?? Mine somehow shit the bed on me randomly and lost the throttle position control.. somehow the thing just randomly caused the throttle pedal to not do anything.. replaced the tps, that only gave me the last 1/4 of the pedal, the first 3/4 would do nothing.. starts and idles great, right at 600rpm. And the last 1/4 of the gas pedal will allow it to rev out but the first part does nothing.. tested all the wiring back to ecu and followed the service manual and got 0v between any of the pins. Checked fuses, all good, like i said new tps.. tested the little throttle motor in the throttle body and the accelerator pedal position sensor, both ohmed out to spec.. wiring ohmed out to spec.. thinking it was just its time.. looked at the ecu board and no shit stains or swollen caps. All ic’s look good, conformal coating is all intact.. pins all straight connector pins still tight and pass the pin test.. wiggle checked it also.. did everything besides stick my pecker in it.. which i guess would probably cause something else to quit working.. lol. But seriously. Im down on my luck, the truck died the morning i had to go to the dentist for an infected tooth and the next day they closed for the holidays until the 5th so still in pain.. plus no insurance so is going to hurt just as much as the thing does now.. i just literally sunk a good chunk of change doing a tune up on it with plugs, wires, filters, fluids, breaks, drums, rotors…. Now its kia .. any help would be much appreciated. The only ones i can find are over 300$ and im guessing i still have to get it flashed by toyota which betting wont be cheap.. techstream wont allow somebody to flash an ecu im prettu sure.. im just ready to put a can of gas inside of it and light a firework while its rolling then shut the door..

No wouldnt have thought there would still be any market for a 20 yr old toyota ecu.. so the vins arent stored on em or anything other than the options for that model? Is good to know.. thinking about it and i guess ive never seen any vin or anything identifying in techstream when i plug in.. on other toyotas it auto pulls the vin.. thanks for the insight.. relieves some stress..
