Relentless Fab hybrid bumper, 2.5” Dobinsons IMS lift, RCI skids and sliders, block heater. Painted FJ Steelies. Was trying to keep it stock, now slowly building for the Wisconsin trails.
In the interest of saving you money. Before making any suspension mods you need to consider the weight of all the accessories that are added or will be added.
See, so you need sliders before shocks/struts, AAL, and UCA's. :D

People helping people. That's what America's all about.
I've been shooting toward medium weight upgrades. Rear has OME Nitro and black sumos.
Most weight I've thought about adding is front stubby bumper.
    edit:
what @pearing has is a build.
I'm only going for better than stock.
If a cheeseburger was stock. I'll be having a double c.b. while he's having the double 1/4#er.......w/ cheese. :D:anonymous:

    Johnathan is right.
The thing is, it just doesn't stop at sliders and a small bumper. There is a spot behind the bumper for a winch. A spot on the bumper for lights. There a spot on the roof for a roof rack to mount your gmrs radio antenna and room to mount traction boards and other gear. There is also mounting locations under the truck for skide plates.
    The weight adds up quickly.
What I did was I told my when I got the skids and sliders was,, I don't plan on pounding the truck on rocks. The armor is there for incidental contact.
    Then there was Moab.

My eyes are on the Fox 2.5 factory coilovers. They use a 600# eibach spring.
Which makes me wonder how much better is the fox shock, that I don't just look more at eibach stage 2 and save $400?

Factory suspension is mid travel already, I highly recommend getting sliders and of course skid plates before you do anything else. If you want to really utilize the mid-travel delete your front sway bar.

If you plan on doing high speed off-road, the fox shocks are worth it. Otherwise the eibachs are fantastic.

Small lift, slightly oversized tires, well...
At one point, I was eyeing up the Fox shocks and the more I read, the further away I drifted. I wound up with Dobinsons IMS and couldn't be happier. There are a couple of us with Dobinsons. Because of my bumper/winch, skids, and sliders, I went with heavier springs. The ride is firm without being harsh.

While reservoir shocks are nice for the bling factor, I didn't see the need here in WI with the kind of wheeling we do. I know, that's a kind of blasphemy for some, but it's my story and I'm sticking to it.

    Thanks for the input.
I'm at 2.5" front, now and like it.
Fox 2.5's say 2" (one site claims 2.5" height though I think it's mistaken for the tube diameter) ....add weight and what's that?....less than 2".
Eibach is 2.5" add weight, eventually and would hopefully hold above 2" at least?
    I've yet to explore Dobinsons.

Better bumps will help with weight.
4-500#'s in the back with sumos and the box didn't sag, at all.

I still have stock bumps on front.

I have the Fox 2.5 PES setup. Nobody here needs them, not even me lol. Dobinsons are probably the best value. I’m sure those Eibachs are OK too.

And another vote for sliders first. Even if just for protection against rogue shopping carts and soccer moms door dings.

When I was starting to mod my 4R, I did some digging on the 'net first. Every video I watched said the very first thing to get was sliders. Mess up your rocker panels and your doors will never be the same. They are very difficult and expensive to fix.

I like the analogy; however, I think of mine as more like a bacon cheeseburger with jalapeno's... Pure red neck with a bit of spice!

Fox is great. They are. But, in my opinion they don't last (cosmetically or functionally.) Dobisons for the win! Sliders will save you headaches in the long run... So will skid plates. Trust. Do it once not three times... (ask how we who are advising you know.) No one here will lead you astray; however they may cause marital strife...

Fox is one of the brands that make me wonder how much is really paying for the name.

Who makes a good hunk of metal for sliders? Durable, Affordable and won't rust out in a couple years?
Looking at the Westcott designs or Cali raised both around $1200.

I've read up on removing the sway bar, before.
I like the sound of the pros but the cons sound a bit sketchy.

edit: I've got nothing better to do. Been removing all this other stuff, so what's 1 more thing? Ha.
Worse case scenario I put it back on with the NEW links I've had sitting around for months. :D

I will let others (@wi_taco?) who do a lot more research than I do speak to this. Assuming that it is just steel tubing as apposed to DOM at that price. I built my own (yea, I know...), so I didn't do the work other than to figure out dimensions and mounting methods. I made mine with way thick DOM and a bolt on design.
