It does if your financial picture isn’t static. The conditions that had me in a 25yo truck might no longer exist

I am going to mention every dealer that I talk to that is wanting a “market adjustment”. The first I will mention is Toyota of Bowling Green in Kentucky. They have a $2500 mark up. Tried to talk them out of it, but they are adamant about keeping it, so they are another dealership that can go pound sand. Keep getting the word out on all these greedy dealerships!!!!

Liberty Toyota in NJ charging a 10K markup for a sport lol! I wanted to call them ask if it was a mistake.

Jimmy Vasser in Napa California is asking $5,000 over MSRP and Stevens Creek Toyota in San Jose is asking $9995 over MSRP. Boo to them!

i just checked on-line a few minutes ago... Roseville Toyota in the Sacramento Area in California is advertising four, 2024 tacomas... each truck shows a "dealer adjustment" of $19,995 over "Total Suggested Retail Price (TSRP)" for an "Advertised Price or Smart Price"... i need to pay more than that... yeah right... has anyone found a higher markup than 20k essentially...

Salinas Toyota had a 10k markup. Even after I called and asked if they sold at msrp. Then bam gave me a 10k markup.

Who are the morons paying these markups? Are people in California dumber than the rest of the country? If they just stopped paying then the markups would disappear.

i have a confession... i have purchased cases of factory oil filters from Roseville Toyota in the past... after price shopping they were the cheapest dealership... but parts prices vary... Auburn Toyota was cheapest once... Maita Toyota another time... surprisingly Walmart was the most expensive for a factory filter...

Probably nobody. The dealership owner and management will keep the first few for themselves unless someone comes in and offers a huge amount of cheese. The markups will disappear or shrink as soon as deliveries start coming quickly. It’s just trying to take advantage of hype for a quick profit

roseville is Sacramento, more or less, so there’s not an insignificant amount of money floating around there

That’s sad. I’m looking to buy here in the coming months but a road trip may be in my future. I don’t think California is gonna see non mark up for a few months. And if you can get msrp there’s probably a waiting list

My nearest dealer. Saw they had at least 2 marked up on SmartPath last I looked. Disappointing, but I have no problem purchasing elsewhere.

Tell the dealer to pound sand, and do not pay this adjustment....no.matter.what.
