It's not hard to find 1/2 ton 4x4's for under 50K a quick glance at a Chevy dealer around here yielded 12 of them between 45-50K and thats a small dealership the Ford dealer had 1/2 dozen of them and that is before any negotiation.

No, we don’t. As of 2024, SR5 is the bottom.

I also strongly prefer mid-size truck for places I go ( and partly since I've mostly driven sporty compacts my whole life). My Tacoma does well enough with my 3K boat/trailer, even over long trips in the midwest but no doubt a full-size would be better for towing. Yet, I'm done with ICE-only vehicles so I'm watching with interest the 2025 RamCharger in-series hybrid. Seems to be a smart way to go for truck electrification.

Rather not go full size if I don’t have to, the setup I have now works very well for me, but typically not on the road for more than 2 weeks. When we start doing a couple few months long trips, might need more room so we don’t kill each other, if you know what I mean. The longest TT I would do is 27’, that way we can have sleeping quarters at either end. I tend to stay up late, she bails early. Need at least a half ton for that.

Do like the concept of the Ram Charger, seems like the best of both worlds, but I almost wonder if it worth the wait to see what Toyota has for their solid state batteries and BEV.

Ah I see you are in castlegar, wife was looking at other dealers in the province and tundra pricing to see if they are cheaper then kelowna. She really wants a fullsize truck instead of the new midsize

    Happy wife, happy life! ;)

Love the concept, specs look amazing. Seems like the proper way of doing a hybrid (Tundra/Tacoma hybrid is odd, only real advantage is power) but yeah a Ram product, plus can only imagine what it is going to cost.

Definitely the best EV yet in theory, just wondering how that Pentastar will hold up.

Would imagine well, since it should have less strain on it than in a conventional setup.

What if it ends up like a Toyota hybrid?

What are you even talking about , the Toyota hybrid isn't even the same offering as the dodge and jeep. One is a plug in and and the Ram is also different from the tundra as it saves you on fuel, batteries turn the tires instead of using engine power

Why do you always assume that anything that isn’t a Toyota will be junk? Also Toyota has many types of hybrids.

Because it's dodge and unlike you I watch and read a crap ton about other brands . Also where does it say i think toyota is perfect , they aren't but they seem to react the quickest over the rest . You openly admit you don't bother googling things , google jeep wrangler hybrid issues . The first thing that pops up are 4000 recalls due to fire risk

Could be. I’d have no hesitation buying a Ram. There’s millions of Ram trucks, Caravans, Chargers, etc on the road.
