Thanks! I’ve had the front end apart enough I better be good at it

Yeah just with the strap around the cv and yank it a few times and it pops right out.

wow, that’s impressive for less than 10 mins. I think it would take me a couple of hours but have not swapped CVs before.

Not much to show for it but swapped in a 2nd gen “8.4” (8.0” non-lock) rear axle which I built with a TrueTrac and 5.29 gears, performed by good ole @ZUK in Arizona.

New wheel bearings, brakes, backing plates, etc all done by me. Thing drives great and it’s fun to chirp the tires on turns! Hopefully this puts an end to the notorious one-wheel-peel I’ve suffered the last 6 months with LT tires and heavy rains.

To make the dash happy with the locker being gone, I used a 4WD ECU from a non-locker truck. It was plug and play and everything works. At the differential I bought factory plugs to cap the old unplugged wiring and then zip tied it away.

5.29 8.75” factory locker axle for sale here soon!

Thanks. I’ll keep that in mind when the time comes. Been looking at RCV axles and was thinking I should probably get a set before they get too expensive. Couple of years ago they were $1799 and now they’re $2299! o_O

First few times I had it apart took me a while but I put anti-seize on everything so at least I’m not fighting parts that don’t want to come apart.

Yeah I’m seriously contemplating them as well. $2.2k though. Man it’s a lot.

Yeah, but they have a lifetime warranty against breakage. Although, I’ve seen a member on here that broke one recently. Then again he’s running 37’s.

Downside to RCVs, at least from the perspective of a Jeep owner watching other Jeep owners, is the incessant clicking that they seem to all do. Is that an issue on the Toyota ones? I swear every Jeep I see with RCVs is clicking constantly and it’s for sure from the shafts.

I’m on 35” but eventually I’ll probably go 37” it’s never ending :D. I’ve heard the high angle boots don’t hold up as well too. Still worth it to me. Especially for when I make it out to the rubicon or Pritchett.

I haven’t heard of the issue with the Toyota shafts. That could get old real quick.

I love that off road jack, maybe if I got off my ass and bought one I wouldn't have to play floor jack jenga with chunks of 4x4.

Per reviews ... owners can confirm. $300. Big wheels make it difficult to maneuver in small spaces, unlike jacks with tiny wheels that sink into mud in the field. Also may be too tall even at minimum height for Civics or Corollas.

But I have a truck that I drive into dirt, intend to have a 2-car garage, so I do not care about the haters. :D

I have a low profile jack from when I had a ferd focus and a regular height jack which is still great for side by sides and my wife's SUV. But both my trucks are up there a ways so a taller jack would be useful. Moar jack less jenga!

Getting one can require waiting. In the past they did not have enough to keep one assembled on the floor and ones in the back stockroom. Online stock count may be wrong. Just go to the store, ask them to check the back room and be ready to buy if they have one.

I sold my super tiny Craftsman I had from when back when I had a Civic. I wanted a new jack and since now I have the Taco this fit the bill. I love the fact that it's aluminum and it's much lighter than the other 3 Ton jacks there. Got it during the Black Friday sale and I'm a happy camper!

Custom, only one ever designed and built interiors, heavily welded frame, all sharp metal turned bed rack and a roof top I made for $75. Power pedal, injen intake system, cat delete, summit racing brake proportioning valve controlled on the fly, slightly adjusted or perhaps unrecognizable ECM, built in under bed storage, high clearance rear built with 1/4" on a 6011 1/8" rod at 120 amps, 360 degrees of led light, a PA and CB, on board air, on board propane (to cook food), on board fridge made from an old red bull fridge found on some guys man cave built into the storage cubby under the back seat, imported tranny and clutch from a good friend over in Europe to replace this aisin junk we get, combined 32 gallons fuel capacity, 18 5 gallons of water storage, built in gun locker under RTT, and all it cost was to hear the wife ramble on about upset neighbors at 2 in the morning every night since I bought that damn truck..
This thing is loaded with features! I'm loving it so far.

Nothing crazy, but got a black exhaust tip from the future brother in law for Christmas. Finally got it put on. First real mod on my Tacoma!
