Bilstein 5100 all around set at 2.5. 1.5 AAL in the rear. 265/75/16 Hancook Dynapro MTs on Black Moto Metal 951s. Black badges. Aftermarket grill. TRD seat covers.
I just got 5100s set at 2.5 and 1.5 AAL on my 06 Tacoma and i really like the ride quality off road and hits bumps sooo much smoother but im worried about taking it to the extreme. Im worried my AAL will break (its a toytec) and springs will come off that perch or something else breaking. Everything is stock except the shocks and aal. Anyone have the same set up or close to it that has taken it on some bad trails or bumpy ass feilds? and also since i have an extra 1.5 inches of lift in the back with stock shocks, if i max out one side will the shock snap with it? i know its alot to worry about and im sick of worring about it so someone please call my mind, thanks

No 5100s on the rear? That would be the first place I would put better shocks (and did on my '05, along with Ride Rite air bags).

Trouble is, no one can really answer because "extreme" means different things to different people. No matter how much you build it out - you can always break it if you try hard enough.

I can't really answer because I'm running different equipment than you. Also, my objective is always to see how slowly I can crawl any non-trivial obstacle.

But why don't you try describing how you want to drive it in a little more detail, and maybe someone else with similar setup can chime in.

Ive hit speed bumps and rutty ass bumpy feilds at 20+mph where it shook the truck to where I felt like I
    broke something but never
    have. I have a 2in aal w/ 2in
blocks in the rear with trial
    master shocks and a 3in
    spacer in the front

I would be much more worried about the weak points in the front end, like spindles and alignment tabs. I have the exact same set up in the rear, with some 2.0 fox smooth body shocks and I beat the shit out of my truck. Im going to be running that rear with long travel up front for a while, but still im more concerned with gusseting up the front than I am with anything in the rear.

When I was revalving my legit rear shocks I threw the stock ones back in and went out for an evening to beat on the truck. The next day the billy's were discolored from how hot I got them the night before. They hold up ;) Atleast until you wear out the seals but that take a long time and some hard beating.

well extreme hear in boring iowa is some mud with deep trenches that have pot holes in them and flexing to the max and hitting all this kinda hard. i just feel like this truck can break really easy but i know its tougher than i think it is
