Seller has this listed as a 3rd gen camper shell but it doesn’t look right to me, from others I’ve seen there is usually a curved plastic piece on the bottom of the rear window that conforms to the tailgate. Can someone confirm?
    Thanks!

Ask for a pic of vin# on shell and call the manufacture yourself to check ...this is the way I have checked before purchasing with shells..make offer at time of sale ..missing keys...gas struts on doors ..can all be used as leverage ...and are easy to find and install ..Amazon...style

From the picture it does not appear to be for a 3rd gen . The shell has an overhang at the tailgate and the window is not curved .the front of the shell looks really close to the cab .

Well.... I've got a Snugtop... Ordered new... The rear window glass is flat and the front of the shell fits pretty damn close to the cab...
I don't see anything wrong with what you have pictured.

It’s definitely for a 3rd gen. Looks exactly the same as mine around the tailgate.

Most important is the height of the cap… should be flush with cab. 2nd gen caps stick up above the cab and will ruin gas mileage.
I wish the beds on third gens were the same as 2nd gens…there would be a better chance of finding a used cap. I have been looking for a used one for years.

I’ve noticed there are a lot more used 3rd gen caps on Marketplace now than last year, average price between 1500-2k,

Definitely a 3rd gen. ARE fits tighter like that.

Thanks for the replies! One very similar popped up on MP this morning, same cap but has a sliding window on the right side.

No, the height of the shell depends on what brand/style you happen to buy. No matter what Gen you have. And BTW, my mpg's didn't suffer one little bit.
