SoCal high school teen who just got his first truck. First Gen 2003 Tacoma 2.7L single cab. Around 223k miles when I first got it. Picked it up from Arizona, haven’t done much to it besides new rims and tires. 245/75/R17. Rims are from a TRD 4runner I believe. Give me ideas on what mods to add!

 

Pretty nice first truck... Lunar mist is my favorite color for 1st gen. The better question is what mods do you want to do? Looks like you could at least use a bed liner.

Take care of maintenance and replace any components with Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM parts).

Drive it for a few years and then think about mods. Don’t put a bunch of Chinese crap on it

Yee I’d check Lower ball joints forsure and anything else it needs now. Then I’d raptor line that bed, replace those headlights with either TYC or Depo brand, and maybe a sound system? If you want a nice exhaust sound I think flowmaster and magna flow are usually the go-to brands for mufflers but there’s plenty other brands. I’ll be the one to tell you what you wanna hear but don’t ignore maintenance first like the other guys have said.
