Nope. I mean like don't just point the wand at the inside of the alternator and hold it there all day or something. But just about everything in an engine bay is splash proof to some degree as is

Speaking of engine bay detailing, I'll admit one fuck up.

I mostly cleaned the engine after getting the 7MGTE in my Cressida with a degreaser and a garden hose.

Well, I had a plastic grocery bag over my cheap generic filter my buddy let me have with the engine and after all was said and done I completely forgot to pull off the bag and fired up the engine.

Never had I seen an air filter crush itself so quickly before until that day

    I was 17 btw :anonymous:

I've killed the Land cruiser multiple times pressure washing its engine. It has a wiring harness repair somewhere and I know it's just shorting out whatever that is but it still doesn't stop me from pressure washing the engine. So usually I have to pressure wash the engine first then it won't start for about 30 minutes so I just wash the rest of the thing really well. I've had the spare engine harness sitting in a box in the garage forever and Toyota finally discontinued the part number so now people are offering like 2,000 bucks for one and I'm like shit maybe I should just sell it and actually patch the harness I have correctly

Shiiit yeah I heard about those wiring harnesses being discontinued as it's on the mud list of shit they don't make anymore

Do you know where exactly your "repair" or just a clue?

I had to solder a new knock sensor plug on mine cause the original freaking crumbled in my hands.

Yeah I'm pretty sure the whole harness fell on the EGR pipe it's a pretty common problem and it burned through injector number one because it has a whole new wire running back to the ECU. But I'm pretty sure there's two other injector wires that have compromised insulation and they short between the two of them because you can tell it's getting fuel but it's not getting it at the right time so it kind of like putters and then it dies. Not a big deal it's just one of those I'll get to it one day type things

Yea but all the dirt caked on top of the fluid film still kinda bothers me.

I don't remember, I just fix stuff as needed and not worry about other people's lists or suggestions for "things that may go wrong"

Much less do I ask the world "what can go wrong"

Tacoma seats are not comfortable, they'd get tossed to the garbage.

It's like @CS_AR said it, his vehicle works for him as he had goals set and the 100 more than achieves it

He knows this, since he's been wheeling for some time and knows his capability and the capabilities of his vehicle

It only became a large debate when you 1. compared different vehicles and 2. questioned capability based on paper results 3. questioned reliability based on stranger's remarks on social media
