Back in 1977, my Dad handed me the keys to a 72 VW Super Beetle and said "if you can get it running, you can have it "

I jumped right in not knowing what I was doing and after a few big projects realized what a PITA it was to undo/redo the console plastics, dashboard plastics, seats/carpets, etc/etc...so I've slowed way down in modding lately lol. When you don't know what a pain something will be to do then it's exciting but after you've done it a few times it gets tiresome. I want to install my WeBoost that I bought years ago and mount it in the plastic between the rear jump seats (access cab) BUT I've already installed a subwoofer back there and getting that put in was so painful I'm hesitating to do the WeBoost since I'll need to remove the sub and both seats to remove the back panel. Ugh.

He'll yeah we did! My brother and I drove that thing into the ground and had a great time doing it. We put a Blaupunkt stereo in it that was worth more than the car. :)

And out of necessity, I got to where I could install a new set of breaker points on the side of the road and time the engine by sound! It was always something with those air cooled motors.

I helped my brother change the engine out on his VW bug with no hoist or special tools. Well we did have a milk crate to drop the motor and drag under the car . LOL
That was the first engine swap we did.

Just a few accessories, mud flaps, bed cover , racks, seat covers, ….
I know what you saying, we've tried to change the filter after last dealer oil change, we couldn't get thee filter housing out, even with break bar. I hope this doesn't happen to you , but if it did, you'll know what I meant.

You may be in the minority on TW, but by far, the vast majority of all the Tacomas Toyota builds, stay 100% stock and do all the things they were designed to do just fine.

There's a sweet fucking name I haven't heard in a dogs age... I remember when the salesman laughed at me for buying a 2nd 50w Yamaha amp for my car.
