Funny Craigslist guy selling Nerfbars

So this guy on craigslist had a set of Nerfs for a 2nd Gen Tacoma. Said they was in good condition and that he wanted $50 dollars for them. The guy lives 10 miles up the road from me so i figured i would offer him $40 dollars first to see if he would take them (same thing that any person in the market buying something would do) Any way the guy replies back to me this....

"Na I will just take them to the scrap yard. I figure if someone won't give $50 I will just take my loss this way. Thanks though."

So i was like so you would rather get $5 dollars from a scrap yard then take $40 for them? He then replied

"not gonna budge. Probably won't get $10 for them at the yard, but still not gonna budge. Moneys not the issue. I could have priced them for $10 and someone would have offered $5. figured if someone wanted a deal here's the chance. I have $279 and tax and shipping in them. Just assume take a hammer to them, and sell as scrap. Thanks though."

I know he didn't pay $300.00 for these and i found a black set for $40 dollars about 100 miles from me so i told him about that set, he then replied

"Not a prob. These won't rust away in a year like a black set either. These ate stainless steel. Hell gonna you that in gas to get there. $50 and their yours. Been jewed from everyone since I had them priced at $150. Could have said free and then they would have wanted me to have brought them to their door. "

I then stated not interested and laughed at him. I probably wouldn't give him $15 dollars for them now.. What an idiot.

You kind of a douche as well. Maybe not as a person but in this situation. If you want a set and it's a steal them pay what the guy wants.

How do you figure? I offered him a amount only thing he had to say was no man i have to have $50 for it thats a steal and that would have been fine. Not i'd rather take them to a scrap yard for $10 dollars or beat them with a hammer then to sale them to you for that price? I mean really?

I know right.. I had a guy wanting to buy my Quad this weekend and called bugging the crap out of me all week. The day to come and get it he offers me $200 less than i told him and i said i couldn't doesn't answer or anything when i try to contact him about coming to look at it like he said he was still going to. So the next day i text him and tell him i would take $600 less under his offer and he said alright and seemed pretty happy.. I then said wanna meet me and he was all up for it, but only to me texting back to him telling him i wouldn't sale him the quad for $8,000 if he wanted it hahaha..

 

i agree.out of principle i would have scrapped them as well.craigslist is such a pain in the ass.

I also agree... 50 bucks is a good price I can understand trying for 40 but if he says no it's his decision it sounds like he's tired of dealing with haglers and flakes which there are alot of on cl

hey im not against you man. everybody (including him as he admits it) posts shit on craigslist knowing they are going to get lower bids. let me think of what ive low balled on when buying something on craigslist - 4 guitars, a sound system, a tv, my tacoma!!! it's part of the game and he knows it. im with you, he's being a dumbass.

 

i was selling a 2002 tl1000r that was mint with low miles.a kid wanted to trade me a dark brown caprice station wagon with wood paneling.really???not even a hot rod of some kind.
