Dude....you are really "wasting my time" if you can't show some proof of a tremor ranger. I know they got a tremor maverick, but it make me feel like the day I got a vasectomy.

Nope, they drive their F-150 to the dealer and trade in for a SD with the HO 6.7 diesel.

Toyota has/had the best selling mid-size truck so you you think they know what customers want and what will sell. Chevy and GMC have mid-size trucks with an option for 35" tires that they charge a huge premium for ($11,700). Ford's Ranger doesn't have 35s yet, but they're available on several Bronco models (you can even get 37s) so you know they're coming. And what does Toyota bring to SEMA? A tricked out street truck. They are already offering the TRD Sport 2WD which really has no competition and they decide to take that model to the next level? Because there's a market for it? If they would have put that V6 into the TRD Pro with some 35s that would have turned way more heads. Even if they charged the Chevy $12K premium for it, people would buy it.

SEMA truck was some car nerds that did something fun with the parts bin as a homage to the S-runner and X-runner

Somebody had to greenlight the project. Who in management doesn't have ROI as their primary concern? TNGAF, they could have parts-binned a Bison Killer just as easily.

What does the market for these vehicles look like going forward? Trailhunter will probably be the 1st trim cut.

Where are you getting that from? Tremor starts at $61,000 for the somewhat base level. Of course optioned out a Tremor can be just as much if not more than a TRD Pro.

You can't de-option the Pro. To get ventilated seats (and other comparable options) you need to add the Tremor High Pkg $10,965. If you add another $290 to the price the Tq difference is only 73 less.

I’m seeing $7,525 for high package? But I totally get your point! I would prefer the more torque. Too bad Toyota doesn’t allow a base TRD Pro like the Tremor. It would come in at a more competitive price point. I will say the Tundra looks are growing on me, surprisingly.

For SEMA, ARB had a TH on 35s.

Toyota had a LC on 42s.

There are 8 grades of Tacomas vs 7 for the Tundra. But there are 13 grades of Camrys...

Not sure why the TH exists. Is the OME suspension that much better than the OR suspension (vs the Pro Fox which also has hydraulic bump stops). Seems like you could make the ARB rear bumper and the utility bar options on the TRD OR. All of the other TH/Overland options should be options on all the models either factory or dealer installed.

Ah ok, thought we were on 23’s. Crazy, maybe Toyota saw how much Ford charged for premium package and thought, “well if Ford does it and F series is 1 vehicle in sales, Tacoma can do it too!”

It's just SEMA, the fun projects that get brought to that show are just that, fun projects to show off. It isn't a challenge to lift a truck and put larger tires on it.

It is far cooler in my opinion to drop a high output engine into a small truck that was never intended to take it, this would be a fun sport truck for sure.

In the corporate world it's never about fun, it's about money. It's not a challenge to put bigger tires on a truck, it's a challenge to get customers to part with their money. Enticing them with "Bison Killer" so they wait to buy your truck not theirs is the objective.

The 1966 FJ Bruiser with 42s oddly makes a little more sense. There is a much longer history of the LCs and people modifying them (vs sport trucks). The LC is new this year and it adds to the legacy of being the ultimate off road vehicle.

Dropping a high output engine (the Tundra V6?) into a small truck it was never intended to take it? It's TNGAF, same architecture as the GX550 which has the V6. That was probably the easiest part of the build. Agree it would be a fun sport truck but being #1 in a class of 1 isn't a challenge.
