don’t know. Every dealer I’ve ever worked at had free oil. And pizza I guess.

so if my oil isn't free, i'm not a toyota tech, or a youtube sensation, are you saying it's fine for me to go 10,000 miles between oil change intervals?

As has been stated, 10K OCI’s are generally not advised.

    a 5qt jug of M1 after rebate is $13.
If someone has a $40k pickup that shows they have $13. Or $0 if somebody else gives you free oil not including $5 filter.

free country though. Their motor not mine.

not always. it just shows they successfully stole a truck, stole someone's identity, or duped someone into issuing a loan they can't afford.

I'm no car tech but I've been working on cars for over 25 years and have done well over a hundred oil changes. Toyota has engineered their cars to last, your the first person I've heard saying they built them to suck. If you hate Toyota so much why are you even here?

    congratulations

    not always

    no

I don't. Knowing facts is not hate. I don't hate the sun going up.
Facts are facts jack. Can't help you with your feelings.

There are numerous design flaws kept in production.
Who came up with solutions to that?
People on this forum. Who make and sell kits.
Fixing and making vehicles better: a forum thing
There are many models on this subforum. They are all different.

This is a Forum for probably the most reliable truck on the planet. I can't imagine how you would be if this was a forum for Fords, Chevy or and car maker, Your tiny brain would EXPODE!

I also pull the dipstick out after I drain the oil and wipe it off then fill oil to the right capacity, crank the engine for a minute or so and turn the engine back off then I stick the dip back in and pull it right back out

In certain ways turd gen is the least reliable Tacoma but that’s not the point of this thread and doesn’t bother me.

ford Ranger is not bad. neither is twin turbo Ford or Duramax LBZ.
Other truck owners are usually not in denial.

    $13 after rebate not really.
    Being a tech is free.

My $75k POS 2019 Ford Expedition Max FX4 with 3.5 twin turbo has already had transmission and cam phasers go with less than 75k miles on them. Thank god I got suckered into the extended warranty on that pile of shit when I bought it . Just a vent lol ok let’s not derail this thread

Dealer has serviced and done all recommended service throughout while under warranty. Luckily the transmission went bad on month 71 of 72 before my extended warranty went out and I was a little over 1,000 miles over the mileage.. Me personally though? No I didn’t service the transmission but they did inspect it throughout service and never recommended changing. I prepaid when I bought it for the extended service and warranty.
They make it damn near impossible to service the transmission on the Expedition, Raptors and F150s and even changing the oil is a huge process of removing parts and having a special drain plug that would take an hour to do an oil change on it.
All this said and as unfortunate and aggravating as it is I can’t bash the dealer, they are taking care of it as the 10 speed transmission and cam phasers are a known issue in these and the 2018-2020 F150s and other models with these transmission engines in them during those years according to service tech
