Good thing I don’t live in a big city. Believe we have more 3/4-1 ton trucks running around here than anything else.

If I did live in a big city probably wouldn’t own a truck, or even a vehicle for that mater, just use public transportation.

SR5 is more than enough for me, only thing I don’t like is you can’t get the 14” infotainment screen. Have to step up to the OR.

I love the 4x4 items and the locking diff that you can't get in a sr5

I don't live in a big city either, but I do visit them. I know it's possible to maneuver a bigger vehicle in tight spots and have done it with big full size trucks. I just hate doing it. I don't have use for two back seats, so I don't like hauling them around with me. I'm old, so I resigning myself to just keeping my 2018 running as long as I'm driving.

Don’t need those things, not into hard core wheeling anymore, got tired of fixing broken parts. Rather buy something specific for the gnarly stuff like dirt bikes and SXS. Truck is just a gear hauler/tow pig.

Would do an SR, but no DCLB in that trim. The SR Tundra DC6.6 would work though. Reasonable price, but can’t get the 32 gallon tank option. (Have I mentioned I hate how Toyota bundles their trims? :p )

I'm surprised they don't have the 14" screen as an option or part of the package for the sr5 trim.

At this point, you'd be better off just buying either of the trd models. A base SR5 xtra cab 2wd is 37,695. Put on 4wd and double cab (which majority people are going to get) it goes to 41,965.

A base trd off road which comes standard with 4wd and double cab (options are bed length) in auto is 44,395. Keep in mind these prices are before any options/packages.

Unless you are fine with an xtra cab and 2wd, the sr and sr5 doesn't even seem to make any sense financially. For 3k more you can get the trd models...seems like it used to be that the sr and sr5 were sort of like value trims, not any more. Man prices are getting crazy.

We have no use for rear seats either, quite bummed they killed the access cab. Have zero interest in the new XtraCab since I had an 1st Gen ExtraCab for over 20 years, done fighting gear in and out of that thing. That and 5’ beds are too short for me. So a DCLB is the compromise, not particularly happy about it, if I go that route likely would do a rear seat delete for hauling gear.

You can just fold the seats up in a double cab , pretty sure the price is the same or close on the 3rd anyway. Dou le cab is just more desirable if you ever sell it

The 14” screen will be standard on SR5 and above by the 2027 model year

Yeah it is odd. XtraCab won’t work, and need 4WD.

The upcharge from the SR5 to the TRD OR isn’t terrible, roughly $3000. Definitely not cheap though.

This how I would spec them.

Seems worth the extra money to me, either way both are too much.

The MX gear bags are big, think hockey equipment big (since you’re a Canuck :) ) more about not ruining the seats for resale. Which I would tossing stuff in and out. Would pull them and stick them in storage, until it is time to sell. That and easier to drag things across a flat surface.

Not crazy how they did storage bins under the seat. F150 is much better for gear.

It does, then you’re pushing into Tundra prices, finding those in the low 50s, with the nicer Softex seats, 32 gal tank, greater capacities, more power. No 14” screen…not a huge deal though since you’re getting more truck at that point. But yeah waaaay too much money for a pickup. Certainly makes me want to try and make my 3rd Gen last as long as possible and save my money. :)

Dirt bikes in the bed, gear bags get tossed and locked in the cab at the trailhead while out riding.

Maybe some pictures can help you visualize. :)

The Tacoma V8 Incross that Toyota did was a pretty sweet SEMA concept too.

That’s a nice truck minus the ugly sport bar and ridiculous price tag.
