So, those are probably a standard option from Ford on those delivery chassis. Probably stating the obvious here. FedEx uses the same trucks and they have hitches as well.

Yes they use them.

In my area his load is ready the night before since his route is so rural. Drops trailer off at 1 of his customers and heads out to empty truck. Now that is empty he goes back and another driver meets him and they reload his truck. Heads back out, he only has deliveries and it takes him 10 hours more or less to deliver around the Lake James area.
Crazy he's out at like 8:00 am. Dude is in crazy good shape.

 

@Cwopinger this is so sad. This officer lived not far from us at our old house. He was off duty at a store Saturday night and got shot and killed confronting suspects in the theft of $83 worth of beer.

Hmmm. Interesting. I can tell you the trucks at FedEx never tow anything. Although it's a complete different setup with their delivery model.

I was actually thinking about relocating to the hub around that area, but looking at the crime rate in that area I noped out. There's plenty of bad stuff around here, but not on the rise.

The area really isn't that bad, just certain parts. Kinda like everywhere else. It's getting expensive to live in this area though, where the crime isn't as bad

 

Yea, but finding a [decent] house in my budget in one of those good areas was next to impossible. Found some places in the surrounding area, but I was not interested in commuting 45 minutes again.

 

That's why we moved so far away, only area we could afford a house, shop, and 10 acres

I did a longer commute for years. I put close to 17K miles on my old 3rd gen in 1 year. I've only put 7K miles on my current one since April '23. Trying my best not to go through that again.

 

That is very sad and so senseless. My condolences to you and his family.
