Thanks Rusty. most of it was done by eye, I used a bit of aluminum welding wire to get the rough shape of the horn, then just went to town with a 4.5" angle grinder, then a 60 grit flap wheel, then a sander, and finally the buffer. I'm happy with the horn finish, but its making me want to redo the flat surface so it matches.

 

i know the paper nest doest burn very good unless you pour gas on it

 

Yes sorry for this, got a Blue alert they were headed West on I-40. They got all 3.

 

FedEx has tossed around putting truck numbers on the bottom and bottom of their trailers so they can identify them when they roll over.

Actually they do frequently pull trailers just not around the route.

The UPS hub for my area is about 110 miles away and there are 3 - 4 trucks serving the area, they pull a 4 wheel enclosed trailer up and park it, unload the truck (a "package car" in UPS lingo) then go back and reload the trucks from the trailer for more deliveries.

At the end of the day they can also use the trailer to bring pick up packages back to the hub.

 

Walked into the shop today and was greeted by a new v10 mercury outboard. A brief inspection was enough to make me realize.. 1, we haven't had any training on this new set-up. 2, we should pry do some training. And 3, we don't have any of the service parts/tools for this.

As it goes, and to no surprise... this all came as news to the shop manager.

Cole welded some expanded metal back on a trailer gate for a friend last week.



I may have put a tad too much oil in the wood splitter engine. It stopped after a few thirty seconds.

 

That takes some skill with a stick welder! Bravo!

I give up and get out the 480V MIG Gas...

I made a new one several months ago after adding hydraulics to make it turn left and right.




It just needs some paint now.
