Nope, that sounds about right. Coming from a life of driving Civics, the only disappointing thing about the Tacoma is the awful mileage. My 4 liter gets an average of 20... if I'm lucky.

First tank I got 18mpg just around town.

This second tank, I am getting a little over 20mpg around town.

Drops to 19mpg on the highway since here in Texas, it's like the autobahn. 75-80 is what I cruise.

These numbers are the first 500 miles on the truck. Curious to see how much, if any, they change with more miles.

I do about 25% city, 75% hwy as a daily driver. Overall mileage tends to be between 16-17 MPG. On long trips with little to no traffic, I can average 19-20.

Does "Douche" mean, leaving early enough to be able to drive at or under the Maximum speed limit and still arrive at your destination on time ?

Why would I drive under the speed limit?

Why drive under the Maximum limit, weather, heavy traffic, four legged accidents in waiting...

I seem to continue to avg about 20mpg as long as I keep it to 75mph or less. This is on a 120 mile round-trip commute to work.

Best ive gotten was around 23-24ish. However, this was driving on mostly flat roads with cruise set to 60 and bone stock. Average is around 19 to 20.

No I meant it like an 93 year old driving their Cadillac to church kind of slow. For old people to do it it’s not a douche move because old people are awesome. But for a normal person to drive like they’re in slow motion makes me want to punch a puppy.

‘23 DCSB MT with 5k miles…stock no lift no serious mods with 800 lbs onboard including 3 adults and gear. Currently in the middle of the state on I-70 heading west across Kansas to Colorado. Going 80 mph 2600 rpm in 6th gear on this 89 octane tank mostly flat with 10-15 mph wind from the SE. Getting 16.1 mpg halfway through this tank. Not impressed. I did already post this in another thread active today but would appreciate any insight I really thought this truck would do better than my 2018 Frontier with similar setup but automatic not MT, which would average 18-20 on this route.

Try running a quality 87 from Shell. That’s how I get my best mpg. I don’t think the Tacoma is tuned to run 89 so only thing you get out of it is a hurt wallet. I don’t know anything though.

    It’s also winter fuel

Completely stock ‘23 4x4 DCSB OR with MT and 5k+ miles. I drive combo of city and highway in hilly areas. I get 16.5-20 on average…driving about 75mph using premium fuel. My ‘20 2WD DCSB SR5 auto got about 17-22 on same terrain and speeds with regular fuel.

21 Trail Edition DCSB AT and I average 21 mpg about 50/50 city and highway driving. Not to hilly where I live. I have seen up to 24-25mpg and really have no complaints about fuel economy on this truck. It is about the same as what I was getting in my 2015 2.7 4x4 5M Access Cab

2020 TRD OR 6spd manual with 33" duratracs, I get 15-17 mpg if I keep it below 72mph. 73+ mph is less than 15 mpg

I'm 69 and NEVER bought a truck (had a lot) because it got great mileage. You want mileage....buy a Corolla.

Gas was hovering around $2 a liter ($7.60 a gallon) here last summer and will probably get up there or higher in the near future. Return trip to my cottage, $240 in my truck, $140 in our rav4. Yes! mpg matters.
