You bought new leaf springs from dirt king? Or you mean to tell us, the leaf-springs-party-harder-truck is getting linked?

    Both answers are acceptable.

I had said I bought links from dirt king to mess with @Caboose117

But the true story is I took the main spring from my old leaf pack and slapped it in this pack for the time being. Who knows that the actual plan is at this point. Just trying to keep it running and get by for another year lol

Excuse my ignorance, but assuming you're not going crazy like with a fully fabbed axle and elaborate bedcage, can't you start building a decent amount of a linked rear with the leafs still on the truck? Like the front mounts should be out of the way of the leaf springs, the links can be built off the truck. I don't get why nobody just chips away at it over time and then only the axle mounts and locating the upper shock mounts needs to be done in one shot. Am i missing something?

If you’re doing a linked setup it takes time playing with lengths and mounting locations to get geometry proper.

It would be one ugly can of worms trying to do bits and pieces and makes no legitimate sense to do so until you have it all, and substantial time to do it.

If you’re talking about a kit with predetermined geometry and mounting locations
Like… even you modeling your own design in cad, would likely work out exactly as you described.

you could absolutely chip away at it.
But you know how it is…

The sentence “that’s too much work” comes out typically just as a mental knee jerk reaction to mean “ that’s not how it’s normally done”

take F vs F as a prime example
Ford innovated and set out away from normally done
Like having fully built suspension ready to swap out just to get new brakes on in a timely manor

Jokes on you, the phasers were just replaced 15k miles ago!

Not like that means anything considering they’re failing at 20k miles on new trucks :anonymous:

I've recently done the same truck for the 3rd time believe it or not. And also on a Bronco that had only 10k on the OD, there aren't any revised Phasers for the 2.7L yet so the same style goes back in.

I can get the Warranty History for you if you PM the VIN

Phasers on a Bronco is probably one of the worst jobs I've done in a while. WorkShop manual says to remove the engine for the front cover removal. That's a big job task for the Bronco. I managed to do the Phaser Job in place. Total job paid 23.8 hours with all of the Opcodes added up.

I havnt experienced a head gasket failure on a 2.7L yet. Only steady problems I've seen is oil pan leaks that gets updated valve covers to correct the concern and the Phasers. I wonder whats really going on with your motor
