Buddy of mine is cleaning out his place up north and moving down to FL. He showed up to our New Years party and handed me this box, I opened it up thinking he was showing me his new present since we are both watch guys.
I handed it back to him, and he says "Nah man, thats for you." I was dumbfounded. Anyhow, it's a Citizen Eco Drive Promaster.
It's a bit busy with all the numbers and what not for my taste, meaning I probably wouldn't have gone off and bought one, but its a damn nice watch and I"ll wear it since it was a gift. A nice gift at that.
Now I just need to figure out how to adjust it to my wrist. Any advice would be appreciated. Do I cut the silicone band after I adjust, it wont close if I dont, or am I looking at it wrong.

Edit: YouTubed the adjusting part. All done.

Agreed, it's still a nice watch. I'll stick with my EDC watch but as a gift, :notsure: what are you going to do, hand it back to him and say no thanks? I'll wear it when I am fishing or doing shit that can hurt a watch. Save my EDC LIV watch.

I have the same watch. Love it! I've taken it diving but only down to about 40-50 feet.

I like it, which is why I have kept it almost a decade and a half. LOL But it has some limitations, especially here in Texas where you are a long ways from anything. Had a GL1800 as well but besides wife health issues and finding myself on too many dirt roads chasing down historical stuff I sold the wing. Lately find myself looking at CB500X's but have had some amigos tell me the new KLR is a better highway bike than the old one.

Back to the subject at hand, found this in my Christmas stocking.

My work watch was a Seiko SKA371, great watch but at 7oz it was causing some nerve issues rubbing on the inside of my wrist. This one is a feather.

I'd go for a grand Seiko. an in-house movement and not something based on an ETA

Pretty sure the Omega Seamaster uses an in house movement.

If a watch works because of the movement in it.....wouldn't that make it an "in house" movement? So technically every watch has an "in house" movement. Asking for a friend :notsure:

Some manufacturers actually make their own movements. Most use "off the shelf" movements made by a third party. Kinda like if Toyota, Ford, and Nissan all used the same engine made by Mazda. An example would be your LIV watch uses movements made by ETA and Selita.
