Is it still not driving right after the repair? What's it doing now?

Tough decision. If I were in your shoes I’d ask myself. I’m I going to keep this truck long term and run it into the ground? If so, drive it hard and don’t sweat the dings, dents, and trail damage. On the other hand. If you were going to use it for a few more camping/off roading seasons then upgrade taking advantage resale. I’d sell it now because it’s only going to depreciate year after year and mile after mile. Good luck with your decision.

Damn man. I wish I would have known your situation. I have a garage full of old Ford XLs and galaxies that don't amount to much and would have sold on the cheap so you could get around and have a classic to wrench on and fix yourself without having to buy something newer.

    Happy you avoided injury.

Maybe all insurance companies suck these days, not sure, but State Farm definitely does. Have had them for 34 years with no claim until last year, and then they screwed us for a couple hundred bucks regarding a rental. Long story, won’t bore you all… HAD 3 vehicles and home insured with them, no longer. Agent keeps calling to get us back, what fools. Their obnoxious commercials alone are enough to stay away from them.

What did the investigating LEO conclude?

And yes, as @Rock Lobster suggests, this seems like a situation where an attorney is called for.

What a mess. Hope you persevere!

I am sure State Farm is going after other insurance company. They would never put that kind of money into a 5yr old vehicle.

On another note I would find a 3rd party to inspect your truck. Caliber Collision is horrible, dealt with them in past, along with Gerber Collision. My family owns an independent auto body shop. We have repaired numerous vehicles that both those shops hacked shit up. It worth your time and a few hundred dollars to have it inspected.

Not sure what the issue is . The insurance company did their job they replaced all the parts and the frame of the truck . Shouldn’t be any issues . When a vehicle gets wrecked like this they do get inspected after the rebuild and it passed .just keep it drive it and enjoy . If u are really worried about it use it as an off road truck . Life is too short to worry about stuff .

Snake farm gave me over 8 grand for hail damage on my 03 Tundra (clean title) sold it to a coworker for 8500 which put me comfortably behind the wheel of my brand new 23 Sport . I really hope it all works out for you (glad you were not injured) goes to show you even a blind squirrel can pull start a lawnmower.

Yes, but at some point when the other insurance company won't budge they'll give up and then it will hit his insurance. Ask me how I know....

I don't have to ask....State Farm isn't like a good neighbor, unless you think a good neighbor bones you and your wife!

Wow, glad you got your truck back finally!
Good luck with diminished value claim with State Farm. When my truck was only 2 yrs old, my driver's side of the bed and bumper sustained damage(about $6k worth, no frame damage) when parked away from everyone at the grocery store. An elderly man cut through the lot and tagged mine while turning down an isle with his newer Dodge Challenger. He had State Farm Ins. He didn't even know he hit mine, but thank god there were a few strangers waiting to report to me what happened as I returned to my truck. The repairs were handled, and I was satisfied when it was done. I went after diminished value because it was still like new and like only around 15k miles. I spent a small amount to have a lawyer persue it, but it was going to be a losing battle, probably costing much more than I'd want to spend. I was told State Farm is the worst for these claims. I needed to move on, and since I planned to keep it for a long time, I let it be. The agent even called me to try and deny the claim instead of the lawyer I had. They are slime. Best of luck to you.

Nothing in particular. I didn't get to look at the shop that did a lot of the work, and I worry when there was so much non-OEM work to be replaced that it won't be done right.

You can't claim diminished value with your own insurance, only on another's insurance. It would be like suing yourself.

This is my primary plan as of now I think. It defiantly feels different to drive than what I remember., but maybe it's just placebo
