Yeah, we never have been able to either. Our local power coop start a program 2 or 3 years ago to connect all of their substations with fiber. In the process they decided to offer fiber to all of their customers in phases. Of course the people on the direct path to the stations got it first now they are in phase 3 or 4 I think. The project was supposed to be finished by now for the entire county but Covid caused them to slow down. We should have had it this time last year.

Hybrid is worth it. It give you the torque for pulling a boat up a ramp or starting off with a camper. My boss has a ‘23 Platinum 4x4 and it’s fast and gets 20 mpg, but it’s gutless down low.

Yea i might go that right. But something on back of my mind would be it would be one more thing to fail on the truck.

Have you driven both motors? Do you think you'd be ok with the "smaller" one? Or is the difference REAL noticeable? Like from a Civic to a Vette type deal? If that's the case.......go vette deal :D

No Ive only driven Hybrid. I'm def testing both before i buy. MPG numbers from what i saw were slightly better on the hybrid as well but 1mpg better. But lets be honest not buying for the mpg lol.

Yeah, MPG's shouldn't matter for a truck. I really have no need for a lot of power, but if that bigger motor was a huge difference.........I'd probably want that one just cause :D

Toyota has been in the hybrid game for a long time (2000s Prius) and the truck will work fine if the hybrid drive fails for some reason.

The only V8 I have ever owned was in my 79 Waggy(I never drove it after having it bored, aluminum heads, intake, Edelbrock carb, etc )......and that was basically the same as my Inline 6 in the TJ  So powerful engines in cars/trucks aren't something I'm familiar with

Take this with a grain of salt since I haven’t researched hybrids in several years and know nothing about the system they’re putting in the tundra but I’ve had several 2nd generations and still have a 3rd gen Prius and helped work on several more for friends. Unless something has changed the Prius system is not perfect. They should have used lithium batteries instead of nickel metal hydride but did it to keep the expense down. Every 2nd gen I dealt with started burning oil at between 100k -120k, two of mine were about a quart every 500 miles and I’m pretty sure Toyota considered that within spec, 3rd gen hasn’t started burning oil yet at 114k.
Several traction battery failures at between 150k - 175k. They’re pretty simple to replace or rebuild as long as you’re careful and understand what you’re doing.
That being said I LOVE hybrids. I’ll end up with another Prius in the next couple of years and if Ford wasn’t such an ass i would have kept my hybrid maverick. :D

Edit: my long winded suggestion of do plenty of research.

DRY DAY: Temperatures are below freezing over the northern 2/3 of Alabama this morning with a clear sky; we rise into the 50-55 degree range this afternoon with a good supply of sunshine.

RAIN RETURNS: Clouds will increase tomorrow ahead of a weather system that will bring rain to the state tomorrow night. SPC maintains a low end “marginal risk” (level 1/5) of severe thunderstorms for the Gulf Coast; the main threat there will come from strong gusty winds, although a brief, isolated tornado can’t be totally ruled out.

Most of the rain will come from about 6:00 tomorrow night through 6:00 Saturday morning. Rain amounts of around one inch are likely statewide; some spots could see more.

THE ALABAMA WEEKEND: Clouds will likely linger through much of the day Saturday, although there could some clearing by mid to late afternoon in spots. Sunday will be a dry day with a partly sunny sky. Highs over the weekend will be in the 50s, right at seasonal averages for January in Alabama.

NEXT WEEK: Another system will bring clouds back into Alabama Monday, and more rain Monday night into Tuesday. SPC has defined a severe weather threat for about the southern quarter of Alabama with this system…

At the moment it looks like most of the rain will come from about midnight Monday night through 12 noon Tuesday, and amounts of 1-2 inches are likely statewide. Gradient winds (not related to thunderstorms) will be strong, possibly gusting to 40 mph in spots. For South Alabama the main threat from heavier storms will come from strong winds, but again a brief tornado or two will be possible.

The latter half of the week looks dry with seasonal temperatures; highs mostly in the 50s, lows mostly in the 30s. Still no sign of any high impact winter weather event for Alabama for the next 7-10 days. See the video briefing for maps, graphics, and more details.

ON THIS DATE IN 1917: A tornado with estimated F3 damage cut a 15-mile path and struck a school at Vireton in Pittsburg County, Oklahoma, killing 16 people. It ranks as the 4th worst school tornado disaster in U.S. history
