Hi, i drive a 2021 toyota tacoma trd off road and I've recently installed some inon vehicle dynamics front 2.5 coilovers with external reservoirs and rear 2.0 shocks with external reservoirs, icon tubular upper control arms, and an icon rear add a leaf spring. I want to state that I have a bed rack, roof top tent and a soft topper on my bed. I recently took my tacoma out to the desert and was experiencing some/lots of bottoming out in the rear. I was thinking about doing a leaf spring and upgrade the stock bump stops. Which would you recommend and what else should I replace or add.

IMO you need a new leaf pack and new bump stops. AAL’s wear out in time.

You just did a bunch of Icon stuff, maybe grab the Icon RXT leaf pack. That’s what I just installed as well.

Yes I agree I was looking at getting the allpro leaf pack but they have different options and I'm not sure which to go with. Bump stops I'm not sure if to go with the trail gear nitrogen filled bump stops or timbren bump stops

Archive garage u bolt flip kit with the yellow bump stops. You can do the rxt leaf springs without their shocks. You can use any brand shocks as long as they have appropriate travel.

I'm running Bilstein front shocks with Fox rears and a custom alcan leaf pack.

I’m running Bilstein 5160’s with it. It seems like MOST people using the RXT leaf pack do not use the RXT shocks. But there are other leaf options that would work great too.

    This.

Aal is for lift, not added weight. A new leaf pack is whats needed. Ask any reputable spring shop and they will tell you the same thing.

I went with Alcan. 900 bucks, and they call you and ask all the right questions before building you your new pack.

Quick update, ordered the all pro expedition leaf pack rated for a constant 500lbs load. After installing the leaf pack I will let it settle, get measurements and order the trail gear hydro/nitrogen bump stops.

I have the same leaf pack with 5160s and superbumps. Aluminum rack and RTT bottomed my stock suspension out terribly, haven't had one issue with the expo pack. It's stiff when it's unloaded, and I sit very tall in the rear, but loaded it sits perfect, rides well and does fantastic off road. They can develop a squeak if you get them very muddy, but almost 2 years in, and nothing a pressure wash hasn't gotten rid of.

Okay how much lift can you get the front? Because the all pro expedition say they're a 3 inch lift and my icon 2.5 state they can go up to 2 3/4 inch lift.

    Huh?

Adding a leaf, is essentially creating a new leaf pack. It is no different, at least in concept, than a whole new leaf pack.

Yeah about 2.5" out front, the expos will give you every bit of 3+" in the rear unloaded. I have a little forward rake unloaded, but sit just about level when loaded. My truck isnt a daily, I didn't want to level it. I wanted to be able to throw 5-600 lbs on the rear and still have plenty of articulation and not bog the rear end down with all that weight.

Not completely apples to apples, top 2 pics are 265/75s below is 255/85, but below is fully fat and sassy on a 2 week road trip, fridge, extra water, extra fuel, trail spares, everything I could stuff in there.

Stock front, no skids but sliders/rack/rtt.

Front with 6112s, steel belly skids loaded on 2 week trip again.

FWIW here's me and @71tattooguy on that 2 week trip, before his Kings, I think he has 5160s and icon RXT in this pic? not sure how much weight he was carrying around though.

You'll probably sit a little high when empty, but once you've got some weight back there it should sit pretty level

You can always take out a leaf if it's too stiff for your needs
