Did not know there was trip history display which I would think would be easy to fudge vs. tank averages.

Wow. I report that my engine is running way smoother after at 1/2 tank of 87 and putting in 9 gallons of 93 Top Tier fuel. Not only is it running better/smoother and less hesitation, my mileage improved and the shifting Surf has stopped. And over 90% just slam me on my 26mpg. Which I’m
Learning now is about right using top tier fuel and the stock FireStone highway non agree tread and being easy on the pedal. But most here never check and throw 33’s or 35’s on a truck that the diff gears are already hurting and then with your bigger tires and heavy accelerator foot you get 16. Makes sense.
This forum is a Facking trip. lol

Imagine if instead of 9 gallons of 93 octane you did 10 gallons. And instead of the stock tires you sized down. You may be able to get even more, please report back after you’ve gone to a 225/35/17, I anxiously await the results.

The trip history is closer to my hand calculated.

The tank average is super easy to fudge, fill it up and jump on the interstate, keep the speed under 65, I can get in the high twenties. Reality is, by the time I run through that tank doing mixed city driving it drops to 19-20.

Indeed, you have already said that, we get it, that's what you think we do.

It's not that you reported your supposed MPGs, it's how you did it.
75% of people who "throw 33's or 35's" on a truck do exactly what I did and add gears and a tune as well, and my MPGs are not even significantly different than when my truck was stock.
Those same people, also like myself, couldn't give two rat shits about MPGs because they bought a truck to use as a truck. I daily my wife's CR-V so that is where I care about MPGs. I would never have started to mod my rig if I even remotely gave a crap about fuel consumption.

You may have figured some of this out had you bothered to do even the tiniest bit of digging on this forum that is a trip.

This entire thread is either an old man yelling at clouds or an attempt to speedrun 50 posts for access to B/S/T to sell scam wares. Or evidence of why removing lead from fuel was a good thing.

I still want to know what flavor of oil is used for these magical MPGs and what the change interval is. As we all know, Tacoma performance is rooted in solid oil change practices and nothing else. A true race engine master builder would know this!!

You didn’t read. Mixed driving city and 50-55 road. 26 mpg. So that’s the reality smh

Really??? 75% re-gear??? That’s awesome but if you read my post…. It’s not the mpgs it’s about the engine running smoother and not gear hunting. MPG’s are up in my scenario because my engine runs better on better fuel and some higher octane and no surfing of gears. Thought owners might care. I guess not. However I’m
Happy that you understand re-gear but I’m doubtful the 75% do this because the the expense.

Why is it you think this is impressive? My Tacoma can get 26 mpg all day long at 50-55, and on Regular gasoline to boot.

Brand new 2023 gets 26 with better fuel choices for this 11.8:1 compression engine. I’ve got 245/75/16’s Firestone highway looking tires that came stock. Just reporting that my engine when running smooth doesn’t surf and as a result my mpgs improved. Is this too difficult for people to understand??? Smh

Because I’ve had 2 4Runners. 2017/2020 and never got better than 22 but mostly 19. But it had more aggressive stock tires that were mild A/T
