Hello, I am very close to getting 35s to fit on my truck but running into small issues. Just for background I am lifted 3in and did the cmc as well as some plastic trimming. I currently am able to get about one turn of the wheel before rubbing on two places(shown in pictures). Is there any way I can fix this issue? I know people say to cut the fenders an inch or so but I am not a fan of that look and want to avoid any changes that can not possibly be undone. I also looked into it but am also not a fan of how the viper cuts look with the early 2nd gen front ends. If anyone has any recommendations please let me know, thanks!

Trim. Viper cut. CMR. Or steel bumper.

or maybe bend and reform it with heat.

or let it rub off what material is needed over time.

You're trying to fit 35" tires on a truck that came with 31's.

    Yes, some modifications are necessary.

I’m well aware I have no problem doing so I was just seeing if anyone did anything other than cut the entire fender for one little piece that’s rubbing

So the cab mount on mine isn’t the issue. It’s the little piece of metal inner fender on the back side of the wheel wells and the section of plastic in the front

1” body lift would help. It’s cheap and easy to do.

You might have to flatten the pinchweld as well.

That’s a small minimal cut to make on the front flare, would be hardly noticeable.

At the time, 2.5” in the front, 3.5” rear, cab mount relocated, SPC UCA and a 1” body lift. 315/70-17. Pinch weld flattened too.

How hard was that to do? I’m not super mechanically inclined but I try to do most of the work on my truck myself. I have basic hand tools and just a floor jack

Honestly if the truck is street driven....for how little it looks like it's rubbing the quickest and easiest fix would be to cut

Mostly street but do trail rides and also take it on the beach for surf fishing

I did mine in two days, only because I wanted to take my time. It can be done in a day easily. All you need are basic tools, floor jack and some wood to lift the body off the frame. :) Just make sure to soak your body mount bolts in PB blaster a week or a few days prior.

If you want to do it right, take your coilover out and cycle the suspension to full bump and full lock left and right. Cut whatever the tire contacts.

This is something that the majority of the "can i fit 35's" group don't seem to comprehend. Sure you can make them fit when the truck is not moving or even driving in a mostly straight line. But as soon as that tire starts to move up and turn...everything is going to rub. I had to remove practically the whole inner fender liner, chop the cab mount, and beat back the pinch weld just to fit 33's. Even after all of that if the front wheel is completely stuffed it will still just touch the fender flairs at the top of the tire.

A lift doesn't create space needed for bigger tires to move up to the bump stop point. It just moves your wheel to a lower point in its travel range. Meaning you will have less down travel when you encounter a hole.

Example, stock you have 4" of up and 4" of down travel, then lift it 3" you now have 7" of up travel and only 1" of down.

For what I do it would be extremely rare for the wheel to be stuffed completely. As mentioned before I do 90% street driving and the other 10% is on trails or on the beach
