yup, that's us on both. just recently found out about it and joined the FB group! figure the more places we can share info it can help others in the community!

It will be nice to see how these tires do! I've had Duratracs, Ko2, and Wildpeak at3, on my previous Tacoma and Jeep. the duratracs are a beast of a tire for sure.

Latest mod to the Yoho. Added a door to the kitchen cabinet. Lucky for me, a friend gutted his Kenai and let me have all the wood from the cabinets. My woodworking skills are far from perfect, but we are happy with it!

Sharing this since it blows my mind a bit. Supposedly a 170 watt panel came on my Scout Yoho. I was amazed last year when I saw 155 watts. My last trip down to California saw it peak at 185 watts. Was able to grab this screenshot from the app. It was hovering around 180 for at least a couple minutes straight. All I can figure was that the sun was perfect, and the temps were 50-53 degrees F, with HIGH winds keeping the panel cool.

Scout (adventurer manufacturing) put on a great open house this weekend. Some 35 Scout campers all in one place. Was really cool to see them all, and meet the owners. The open house had breakfast lunch and dinner provided, plus a campout at the end of the day. Factory tour was a lot of fun, seeing how these things are built. They even had our campers in for maintenance, recalls, and updates while there. They put in a new propane hose for me and installed their anti condensation tape that is now a standard feature. They really went above and beyond! They also did a Q and A session to get our likes and dislikes and what we want to see next.

Thankfully, I made non food poisoning related memories, lol.

Happy New Year everyone, I am close to pulling the trigger on ordering a new Yoho and I am sure this has probably been covered here, but was debating on ordering the clear view bunk windows, any feedback is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I've heard people love them for increased airflow in warmer climates, and simply for the view. I'm happy without them, and would order without if doing again. They'll inevitably get scratched up taking the abuse of bugs and such. Not heard of any leaks though which is my other worry.

This thread isnt overly active so I'm going to recommend joining the "Scout Campers Owners" FB group. Very active group with tons of good information. Full disclosure, I'm one of the main Admins on the group.

Thank you, and I had the same thoughts or perhaps the stray rock that gets kicked up. New to the group, so I appreciate the quick response. I will take a look at the FB group. Have a great evening!

Might not be too difficult to make a type of "road cover" for the clear view bunk windows to keep them from taking the brunt of bugs etc.

I keep looking at the Scout campers, as I held up buying an ARE cap and rethinking things, more longer term. There is a lot to like about the Yoho for sure.

Now that is a good idea, something that snaps over similar to the blackout shade on the backdoor.

There is definitely a lot to like. I have gone back and forth on the Yoho and Kimbo, but I keep coming back to the Yoho.

I really like the Yoho as far as space and how things are arranged, but I am still not liking the overall weight(which is lower than a lot of other types of campers like this), as well as the height, yet it is what it is. It all looks a bit top heavy to me, but I think it is more just the visual aspect of it.

Probably in the end I will go back and take a look at ARE MX cap again, as that is what I have been using on my 2nd Gen Taco for several years now. I think there are pros and cons for almost everything, nothing is perfect, finding what works is the most of the battle, and then being confident and happy in one's decision. Boy doesn't that sound like a load of crap? :)

Just found this. Excellent thread and a great looking little rig.
Question: have you weighed this loaded recently? Just curious how much, or if it is overloaded (as every Tacoma seems to be including mine!)

Thanks for the kind words. As for your question, yeah, I've weighed it. It is overloaded for sure. But a big part of that is my truck was already really heavy before putting the camper on. If my Taco was stock besides the beefy leaf springs, I would probably be really close to payload.

Our trip this weekend to Leavenworth, WA saw temps down around -15F. Colder than anything I've ever experienced before by like 25 degrees or more. We had electric hookups and ran a 1500w space heater that kept the thermometer above the door reading about 75 degrees. The cabover was consistently 15-20 degrees cooler.

    419025073_10113922892289148_237409531724_7e04e6cd76df509222a2d7e5eb23c02e4ee80e8d.jpg

Thermal bridging definitely occurs along the metal extrusions.

    419132289_905876510812004_33811803776668_59899c4cb2a757522c54fc334103c96be376d3b8.jpg

My bolts holding my extra propane tank to the rear wall made a serious thermal bridge to the interior, but the couch cushion was still comfy to lean against. I sat there for hours perfectly comfortable.

    419683784_2683921881759537_5702864342775_c9fddaea5a220b7febd8fff329f9b99de0aaca8a.jpg

White line is ice along the extrusion holding the floor and walls together. Adding a foam pad from Harbor Freight below the Scout's rug made a big difference in keeping our feet warm on the floor. We try to never use our shoes in the camper beyond our welcome mat, so we were in our socks without cold feet. Obviously it helped that the space heater is right there in front of the toilet storage compartment. That's what you see on the right edge of this image.

    419218520_277291932036734_63657155489428_7a9406d854ff1fbac57761327358ed6549e31269.jpg

When we drove into town, we turned the Dickinson fireplace on High and it kept the thermometer at the door at 70 degrees, so I'm assuming the bed area was around 50, which was fine for us.

Brrrrr! Yep campers can get cold! We use to take ours in the dead of winter back country skiing. I remember one cold weekend on top of Rabbit Ears Pass. Cold, but great fun telemark skiing!
One morning our door was so frozen we had to wait until the heater finally thawed it out to get it to open. I learned to spray the contact points with Pam, or WD40 before bedtime!

Found this pic recently in the Kimbo camper thread here on TW. Their metal door gets it even worse than the Scout by the looks of it. I'm assuming the fan pointing at the door handle is to keep it from freezing. I've heard of it happening with the Scout, too, but haven't experienced it myself. Hopefully I don't, lol.

Hi there, im a novice when it comes to truck mods etc. theres not much info out there on Yohos and TRDs tacomas but im in line to get one and im concerned about weight, i am going to upgrade the suspension but should i be (scared, concerned about safety? ) I really dont mind if its overloaded i know for sure it will but the only reason i would not end up getting it is if safety is truly a risk, for example when going uphill or down im afraid that the camper falls lol i have no experience really so how is it driving with it in hards conditions, rain, wind, etc?? im wanting to live in it fulltime but want someones input someone who has actually had it like you guys, any other feedback is appreciated.
