Can someone please help me with advice, I have a tacoma 2016 and the rpm’s start dropping when idling for 10 min and then shuts off. Some codes light up on the dashboard but they don’t appear after start up. It’s a 2016 Tacoma limited 4x4. Thanks

I’d get the codes for help, without that, it’s just guesses.
Any recent repairs or modifications, I’d list those too.

There isn’t any recent repairs or modifications, the codes are not visible when I start the truck, they just appear when the truck shuts off and when I start up again there are none, I checked with the obd2 scanner but no codes.

Try cleaning the mass air flow sensor and throttle body.

What kind of code reader do you have. Some codes will store in modules seemingly unrelated and not all scanners can talk to all modules.

Otherwise can you look at live data with your scanner? Might be helpful to start with looking at everything and see what goes mia when the engine quits. Do you have remote start?

Almost forgot, a month ago, my truck stalled, and I had to tap the alternator for it to start. When I got home, it didn't want to start again. I changed the battery, and it started once more. I've been using it like that, but now it's starting to have a similar issue.

I don't know if the alternator is the culprit here because typically usually it'll lead to a dead battery more so.

Checks of it though would be to remove the belt and spin the pulley. Make sure it's not seized, especially when it warms up. Check the output voltage to make sure it's somewhere between 13-15 volts and check for A/C voltage directly at it's output post. I don't have a baseline for these alternators but a good rule is anything over 0.5 AC volts is no bien

Could be a poor connection or corrosion to or from the battery/alternator.
