Did you plate your cab mount or leave it open like that?

been open since 2015 but first gen body mounts aren’t as far out as second gen’s so I didn’t lose much strength

OP, just last night I cut the same front and back lower corners down on my last fender flare to reattach. This was after cmc, pinch weld flatten, and fender liner reformation (note gap in front due to pushing liner back into fender as much as possible.)
Used my oscillating multitool for cutting both body metal and plastic. The cutting goes quick and used a Dremel sanding bit to smooth plastic edges.

This was to clear space for 33.0" D and 12.2" width tires with no suspension or body lift.20240104_191251.jpg 20240104_175755.jpg

Cut mine not that long ago and was thinking about keeping it open until I get a welder and the time to weld it up

Even if you trimmed those areas I guarantee your tires will get cut up and chunks will go missing in very short order. I had to beat the pinch weld and the entirety of that particular corner almost 2-3 inches in to even clear for full lock turns. I then had to go back and do even more clearancing as I was rubbing aired down offroading.

Probably took me half a dozen times under the knife to properly fit 35 with a 2.5" lift.

I have not even gotten to the point of full lock yet. But I’m sure once I get there the hammer and saw are gonna have to come back out. Especially in that inner corner like you mentioned

Just wondering still if you made any changes to your rear bumper for it to line
did you do anything to make the rear bumper line up properly?

If you mean after a body lift, basically however much body lift you add....thats how big of a gap you'll introduce between the body and anything that mounts to the frame. This includes things inside the cab such as the gear selector etc...

Is the gear selector an issue with the autos or just manuals?

These LCAs helped center the 35s in the inner fender. https://btffabrication.com/collections/toyota-1/products/05-15-tacoma-high-caster-lca. Here is my post showing the wheel pretty damn centered with more info on the LCAs: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/game-changing-lcas-btffabrication.766413/page-6#post-28070462

I have no idea how you can get away with 35s without fender trimming, pinch weld, CMC/CMR unless you're going straight on a smooth road, but even after that I still had inner fender issues and these did the trick for me. In my case, both my LBJs were already shot with too much play so this worked out perfect.

Just wanted to leave an update. Took the truck as it was down some trails with the snow storm and obviously it rubbed pretty bad but wasn’t awful where I couldn’t make it. But I ultimately decided to cut away to make more clearance for the tires for when I have to flex out. Instead of doing the fender cut(which I may do in the future) I decided to do a mild viper cut and trim back the rear of the fender. So this morning I built up the courage and cut away. Still has some touching up to do but I think it came out pretty good. Also trying to find a way to keep the wheel well liners without chopping them off. I hit some puddles and don’t want to get water up into the intake. If you have any idea feel free to let me know

Thanks man definitely had to build up some courage but I’m happy with how it turned out. Just followed the subtle body lines in the bumper!
thanks appreciate it! I’m also getting full turn to the right now with plenty of space and almost full turn left before I rub(I assume due to taco lean) but I just need to beat the pinch weld a little more and it’ll be good
