I hate carnival rides, tall buildings and bridges but aircraft I'm totally fine with. Even sat in the gunners seat a few times in Hueys and Blackhawks. The only times that bothered me was when the pilot banked hard away from me so I'd lose horizon (I'd get dizzy and have to close my eyes).

Qatar was a total mind f'k after 6 months of noise and light discipline...all the lights and music and happenings was not what we expected.

I don’t fly anymore either. Had a bad experience on US Scare going into Philly. Plane was in the clouds bouncing around hard enough to pop open most of the overhead bins and drop crap on you. Then as we were coming in for the landing, the pilot made an evasive go around and pulled up hard and right with enough force to push my head into the seat and wrinkle my cheeks. Came around and landed. Then I had to get in a 8 passenger puddle jumper to come back to CT. No thank you - I’ll stay on the ground. Last time I flew, I went to see that pickpocket mouse in FLA when my daughter was 6. My wife yelled at me: “stop it you’re scaring your daughter…” I guess I was sinched a little too hard in my seat with the death grip on the arm rests.

    Thank you

As a matter of fact, I just now got off the Zoom meeting with the Senior Director, who is over the position I applied for. He gave me very good feedback, as did the hiring manager, which is not something I am used to, most interviews I never get any sense of what they thought of me until I get either "here's your job offer" or "Thanks, but go die in a fire" response from HR. He made no claim as to how soon I can expect to hear back, but he confirmed what the hiring manager told me, that they want this position filled very quickly. So, if I were a gambling person (I am not), I would expect to hear back by the end of today, or mid-day tomorrow at the latest. I will most certainly let you all know.

I am honored by all the support and concern everyone has shown me in my job search. Thank you :)

    glad to hear!
and that's what we're here for and why so many people have stuck around for so long... doesn't matter that we're scattered across the country and most of us have never met in person. hang out, have a laugh, get some crap off our chests when we need to, harass one another, maybe ask a truck question from time to time...

I went in the store early, just me and the early bird weirdos…o_O

    Live Free or Die baby!
Actually, kinda stinks because you can’t buy anything but beer and wine in a grocery store where it’s convenient, have to go to a State liquor store for everything else.

I’ve always wondered about it and actually wanted to shop but coming in I’m always in a hurry to get to the next drop off. The I’m late because I stopped by the liquor store only works in certain circles!

First time I saw low flying aircraft was the summer of 67’, a few years later my dad got us into Selfridge Airforce Base, it was pretty cool for a 12 year old.
