Toyota has occasional issues with linkage of auto tranny in T4R and Tacoma still if you google, that's my concern it can be an issue down the road. Mud, rust and water don't play nice.

 

so from the sounds of things... swap in an LS off a crown vic....or 06 6.0LS out of a suburban....

What dealer did you go to? Woodstock Toyota said most they'd give me is $35K. Mind you I get Yotas for cost as a retiree, so they don't like to pay shit for trade-ins.
