That was a long time ago!
I can respect a long term fan.

My parents were colt fans. We grew up in Baltimore. I didn't like football for a long time, then I decided to figure out the rules and I been a fan since.

Fun game. Been a lot of highs and lows in that time. I have enough empathy to root for teams less blessed when we’re out but as long as my teams in it everyone else is by definition a scrub. Most accurately depicted by Gary Larson’s “How birds see the world”.

You’ll have to wait until next year’s regular season schedule comes out.:boink:

So the funny thing is that’s why I posted that. I just saw yesterday that the non-conf strength of schedule game is West vs West, so now that we locked up the division Chiefs are playing at the ‘Niners next season.

You didn’t really think I thought my Chiefs would beat you in February did you? I can dream it but that won’t make it real.

Why would I not? It’s the task and prerogative of dreamers to dream. You’d be right there with another guy like Rice and a healthy RB.

There's talk of Pete Carroll getting fired soon

Hopefully they ditch Metcalf too. Dude can't even do some basic blocking on a run play without getting into a petty shoving match and drawing a foul

Looking forward to Dallas at SF in the conference title game. May not happen but it would be good TV and fun to watch the trash talk here. I put the over/under at 3 pages.

That would surprise me, but even when you have a SB title the good will doesn’t last forever. Sometimes a change is just best for everyone (Reid from Philly is a good example). I’m wondering how long Vrabel lasts. He doesn’t even have a ring to hang his hat on (as a coach). Tomlin is safe for awhile. Steelers have only had 3 coaches over the last 55 years and he’s never had a losing season.

Yeah but the dude is a stud receiver. Carrol is a motivator like Jim Harbaugh and does pretty damn well with the right talent. Winning a SB is really really special. Just being better than average is hard to do. As much as any team in the league Seattle got schedule screwed on top of the normal bs that can get in the way.

Yes, Seattle has the 2nd hardest schedule in the NFC at the moment. But I think scheduling overall is as fair as it can be with 17 games. 6 constant division games, 8 games on a set rotation (one division from each conference) and then 3 games that are strength of schedule based on last years standings. That adds a little parity to the final standings. This makes the playoff race quite often go to the wire (only 9 teams in and 12 teams out with a week to go. 11 teams gunning for the other 5 spots). I think the NFL has a pretty good system in place as is. But if you look at a single year and not multiple years, you can always find a team that was ‘lucky’ or ‘screwed’ with the schedule. No way around it.

It wasn't the schedule that killed us. We choked on some games we should have easily won.

And hell, that SB win was 10 years ago lol

Next year you get the NFC North (Lions, etc.) instead of the NFC East, the AFC East (Bills, etc.) instead of the juggernaut AFC North. SOS games are likely Giants, Saints/Falcons loser, and Broncos/Raiders loser this week. Should be a little better overall.

It evens out over several seasons I just thought that the early bye after week 5 followed by a grueling stretch left Seattle pretty well wasted by now. We limped into the bye, roared out of it, then hung on other than the Ravens game so for us it was set up really well. Still had to win enough and played more consistently than others to do that so while it was earned I can’t say we didn’t catch any breaks along the way. This season more than any I can remember bye weeks have favored the rested teams and I hope that trend continues.
