    Hi everyone,

first post here! I just purchased my first Tacoma. It’s a TRD t/X Baja.

I realized I have a broken coil spring. (This model came with the Bilstein suspension)

im thinking of replacing the entire strut on both up front with the same Blisteins or even possibly an upgrade.
Any suggestions out there on what would be the best choice if aftermarket? I don’t plan to be going off road consistently, just looking for a smooth ride.

    thanks! IMG_6933.jpg

Bilstein’s : better than stock 5100, or more entry level premium 6112.

5100 is not better than stock.
Nor would it be in his case given the truck is a Baja that originally came with 6112.

I was reading an older post just now pretty much saying how difficult it is to find the original ones that came in the Baja new?

noticed someone saying they’re the 6112s but the springs are different so I’m not too sure if I can find the exact ones that are on it.

If you stay with 6112’s you can order them with different springs. 600 lbs for staying stock or 650 lbs if you want to add something like a winch & bumper. Pay the vendor to do the coil spring shock assemble.

I was able to order the spring separately from toyota when mine broke - i upgraded to the this suspension package and it broke about 3 yrs into service.... see linked thread

So you didn’t go with the kings then I assume? I was reading through the thread but got lost in the rust and lawsuit arguments people were having haha

OP: What’s your budget? How many miles on the 10 YO truck? By all means get the Kings. Have you priced any suspension packages? Original suspension? How are the fluids? Are you doing the work? Have you priced installation?

Truck has 167k miles on it. Fluids look fine was just going to replace it to keep from having to later I guess. Looking to spend under 1,000$. I will install as long as what I get already has springs set. If not I’d just be looking to get that done. Too sketchy to do it at home haha
Was checking out these if they’re closest to stock.

Also debating on contacting the dealership and see what it would cost to get oem Baja ones from them if they’re even available to order.

Any thoughts? Thanks for the help!

Find out which coil spring they are using e.g., 550, 600, 650 lbs? Also recommend you replace any associated incidental hardware e.g., bushings, washers, nuts bolts.
