I swapped to Philips H9 and saw a slight improvement over stock. Remember that the brighter bulbs will burn out sooner and you have to replace both at the same time so order extras...

Anyone know any retail stores that stock the Philips h9? Can’t seem to find them at Walmart,Napa, Oreilly or AutoZone

Crapazon, if you want. NAPA sells model BP 1265 / H9 ... worked well for me and lasted 6-7 months already. $16, I think, but bright.

You are correct. Our state inspection also stated the bulbs must be DOT as well. So that eliminates almost all LED and HID bulbs.

I just noticed this the other day when I did a search for something and it showed $39.99 and so I added it to my cart but needed to log in and when I did my cart showed the item at $44.49 price. So I went back to the item and sure enough, it was more. So I logged out and went back to the same item and it was less again.

Alright guys, went to install the h9 today.
I’ve read on TW that the connector needs to be modified slightly but i don’t see how this would fit…? The prongs are set further apart on the h9 (phillips)

so new bulb on the left, factory low beam on the right

help a simple man out lol

Doesn’t look like an H9. Do you still have the packaging?

Those are 2 very different bulbs. The key to lock into the housing looks entirely different.

here’s the Philip H9s I just got off Amazon. The prongs seem to match the oem ones more than the new ones you have

    Thanks for the help guys,
This is what I ordered but the package I received says "9012" on the top keft corner instead of H9. I didn't check.....assumed they sent the right bulbs.
Guess I have to make a return now.
Can someone link me to what worked for them. Like I said in a previous post...we're simple folk lol

So anyway, what's the best method for modifying that little tab? Just cut it off with a razor?

Are you near a Menards? They sell Philips bulbs. I bought my pair from them.

And you can remove the green endcap on the plug without having to modify the H9.

That's a great tip about the green endcap. Thanks!
And no, looks like there's no Menards in the southwest

It’s also worth noting that the metal fins that lock the bulb into the housing are different than the h11. Some people swear that finagling them in there, in some way that I’m not familiar with, is easier but I just trimmed the metal tab
