That’s msrp. What’s your actual out the door price? The Tacoma may be over msrp while other brands are under.

 

My truck doesn’t even go over 3K rpm in a typical day. I drive 75-80 on the highway but aren’t racing to get up to speed. It’s a slow truck not a race car.

 

Maybe, but the only way to really compare as just a bunch of jerks on the internet is MSRP until sales actually close. There aren’t many notable discounts on the collies around me so far (except the one that is a trail boss without cruise control-make sure you add that package in the comparison).

Closer to $5K difference, maybe less. $5K isn't what it used to be and that's about 10% of the price. When I'm shopping for beer/tools/shoes, a 10% price difference doesn't even enter into buy/don't buy decision.

Same, definitely don’t drive very fast nor in much of a hurry. The ECT button makes it too punchy for daily use.

 

That was pretty strange that a truck they only drove for a couple days won truck of the year. They didn’t even get a chance to tow with it.

I don’t know about you but I can still do a lot for $5K.

$5K is $5K regardless of context. That's a LOT of beer!!!

$5K for $500 worth of extras you may or may not need. Sounds like money well spent!

 

You're not paying $5K more, your just putting the $5K into a savings account.

 

I don’t think it works that way. There’s too many unknowns in the life of a vehicle. You could take the $5K you saved and invest it and end up with much more than $5K after 5 years though. Or go on a trip and enjoy life.

It’s also going to cost more to own the more expensive truck. Sales tax, yearly excise tax and insurance will all be higher.

 

With my investing prowess that 5k would go to 0k. Much safer in a depreciating asset.
