It may have changed, both I had were based on an ETA movement. But the Coaxial stuff could have changed it. (1 quartz and 1 auto, ETA 1422 and ETA 2892) Great watches, but Omega sucks ass when it comes to repair and service. Only authorized repair get parts. I cant even buy links for the bracelet on my Manhattan unless I want to pay twice to three times as much thru Omega. They wont sell me the bracelet links, I have to send it to them to install the pins.

Nothing wrong with it, ETA makes great movements. Unless you are Seiko or Orient, it's pretty hard to figure out who makes what.

Gotcha. All the Omegas I have seen have had thier own movements in them. I'm not familiar with their older stuff. Weird they won't sell you stuff for it. I have an Omega Boutique near me, and they will sell me anything I need it seems.

    Ask for some repair parts.

Keeping one running for a decade is expensive.

I was referring to the Bracelet and Clasp stuff. Im not surprised that movement, hands, sapphire, etc., are only available from their service location. They ARE proud of their watches!

I'm referring to the bracelet, only replacement parts available are through Omega, they dont sell the springbars that hold the bracelet together to anyone. Send it in to Omega when the bars get loose, for $300-$400 they will make the bracelet tight again.

Tonight I tried on the Seamaster. Felt too small.

You might like a Grand Seiko then, they are pretty beefy. I have moved around a bit on watch size but tend to think the earlier Sub Mariners (or dive watch in general) at the under 40mm size are the best. To me, going smaller was a trend I liked, they work well for a dress or sport watch.

Gotcha. Must be a regional thing then, as they fix that for me at the boutique for no charge.

Probably some miscommunication in this, there are 26 springbars in a 1392-012 bracelet for my wrist size. Been a few years ago but if I recall correctly they were between $14 and $18 per springbar from Omega. I wanna say 3 or 4 different lengths in the bracelet.

AH!!! Ok. I was thinking "Spring Bar" as in the two on the case. That sucks you would have to send it in for that, although......I can kinda understand why. Not sure you would want just anyone working on that. Thats a nice watch!!

I replaced 4 about 20 years ago, takes about 30 seconds per spring bar. Then Omega decided to limit parts to only authorized service centers (meaning the factory). I have cannibalized some ebay stainless bracelets as the gold and SS was always pricey. Now it's gotten to the point a SS on ebay will set you back $400, gold and SS twice that, and most are worn worse than the one I have. There was an option for leather at the time (mid 80's) but never found one used.

Second the service complaint... My 3510.50 has the freak caliber 3220 ticking inside. Which consists of an ETA-based automatic caliber fitted with a Dubois Dépraz chronograph module stacked on top. IIRC, service fee was in the 700s with a 6-9M turnaround time.

Agreed, I prefer 35mm - 39mm as it fits my wrist better.

While it’s not a traditionally upper echelon watch company I have to say I was impressed with the Rip Curl service experience last month. The trim ring around the sub dial has come loose and jammed itself in the hands, seizing the watch movement. I spent $11 to mail it to their service center and within 36 hours had a text from them. I don’t have a before or after pic but even I have a hard time seeing the difference with the missing bezel.

Just got this yesterday and sized it this morning...the well received Addies Dive quartz Deep sea hunter... The name makes basically no sense but I dig the watch...
No lume but 100m wr , screw down crown and a Seiko movement... And a cool desert sand face... It's a smallish watch at 36mm I believe
