Anyone notice these trucks seem to have a personality or attitude lol.? It seems some days it drives so smooth and other days it gets an attitude and just overall feels more “rough” . A weird post and perfect for a Friday but I’ve noticed this over the course of owning 3rd gen tacomas. Some days smooth as glass other days not so much

Your truck must be a female.

Every car I've ever owned had moods. Whether it's temperature, humidity, gas composition,or an ECU variable, every day is a slightly different drive.

This truck however really likes changing up a lot of ECU variables.

    Work in progress...
My wife say my truck doesn't like her. And you know, sometimes I know for absolute sure I push that unlock twice but the passenger side door stays locked.

My "Sporty Spice" truck acts normal when my British wife gets in her passenger seat.

Wife knows I have an OTT Tune and doesn't say anything when I accelerate with spirit.

The forces are strong with my tuned truck. :transformer::bananadance:

It’s an octane thing. Next time you get to half a tank, pull into a gas station and add 9 gallons of 91 octane. Your mpgs will jump to 26 mixed city/hwy, it will run smoother and it will fix gear hunting.

The transmissions on these trucks definitely get cranky and can be stubborn lol

I’m right there with you. I finally changed the lock/unlock settings to unlock all doors with one touch to avoid this from happening.

I removed those annoying stickers on the sun visor.
With my 2nd gen, I noticed that it would drive beautifully after spending a full day on the highway. More power, and better fuel economy. Then after a couple days of city drive, power fuel economy would get worse again.

Haven't spent much time on the highway with my 3rd gen, but I've noticed that temperature and humidity affect how it drives.

I've also noticed that it seems to get better fuel economy with traction control turned off (long press), but I can't tell if I'm just imagining it.

YUP. I know EXACTLY what you're talking about. Sometimes it's like you almost can't even hear the engine running while you're stopped OR driving it. Other times it sounds like a diesel. ALL GOOD because they're designed that way and that's the computer / components ensuring your engine stays clean!

For sure the temperature affects it. My truck has much more vibration to it when it’s very cold. The engine seems to like the temperatures between 60-70 degrees the most
