I ran no swaybar in my colorado for a few years, it definitely impacts the ride especially on 35s. Shit got pretty dicey above 160 km/h

Wow, thats FAST! Definitely not going that fast in my truck, it really doesn't like anything above 75-80mph. So far removing the sway bar has been great for me. I don't really care about on-road cornering performance and like the ride and articulation I get now without the sway bar.

Haha I was doing 10 hour drives and things got boring and I was a stupid 24 year old. I'm definitely not one of those do not remove your swaybar people lol. I get it it makes the suspension smoother and gives alot more articulation. Its definitely not as sketchy as people think. I started hauling my adv bike around in the bed thats when i Put it back on my old truck

I have body roll with 285/65/16's E load at3W's with no swap bar so thinking about it when I had the SL rated at3's with the sway bar on, that would be awful on the mountain passes...

Discount Tire told me likely not until 2nd quarter - April/May sometime. Not sure how much this will vary from region to region or vendor to vendor.

Yesterday I couldn't find any vendors listing prices or availability. Today, Tire-Easy.com says they have the LT265/70R17 in stock but all other sizes are out of stock. Quite likely this is just an error though. The price is also starting to show up on some other sites (but not in stock). But so far what I've seen on these sites doesn't match what Discount Tire told me.

I am about to buy new tires. Currently have Toyo M55 255/85-16. E load range. Great tire in my opinion. Daily, offroading, camping towing. Have roughly 90K KM on them.
For the same price and weight, I can now buy these A/T4W's. The rating is um... interesting. M55 3417 lbs per tire, AT4w is 2469 lbs per tire. Squishy? M55 chalked to 36psi. AT4W will chalk at___ ?

Yeah, if you're after load rating, then the AT4W 255/85R16 doesn't seem to be the right choice. I was going thru all the new AT4W offerings yesterday to add them to the tire database I'm keeping to help me sort thru different options and I was kinda surprised by the load rating. What surprised me most was that the 265/75R16 SL rated AT3W's I had before have a higher rating than the AT4W 255/85R16.

The total load rating is still within what I plan to carry in my truck but it does make me wonder. I guess at this point I'm trying to find reasons NOT to go with this new 255.

The E rated 265/75/16 is also tempting because it’s on the bigger side for a 265 tire and that’s the size I’m running now.

My rims are 16x7 so I have restricted my options.
I guess my concern is more about the sidewall strength of the C-rated 85 series sidewall. Corners and cross slope. Plus I only do single-vehicle trips. Yes, I carry a matching spare tire and wheel .... Ah the tire even weighs the same as the M55 225/85-16(E). Is the C rating a big typo?
Please someone, other than me, buy and provide a full report before I have to make the decision.

I doubt the C rating is a typo at this point because it’s listed on more than one website, including Falken’s, as C load.

With the new 255/85R16, this presumably will eliminate the need for trimming plastics and CMC hopefully?

It would depend on a lot of factors but I would think for most trucks, yep you’re correct.

Great job on this! What's everyone's thoughts on the tighter tread pattern? Maybe a quieter ride, but possibly less off road/winter grip?

Yeah I’d say it might mean a more quiet ride, it’s basically the same thing as their Rubitrek tire. It’s supposed to be a more road-friendly version of the Wildpeak because it has a tighter tread pattern.

Small lift, slightly oversized tires, well...
The above chart shows 6 ply carcass, that would be a C rated tire.

I meant to also add in, if you were to keep the stock rims on a Gen 3 (Offroad trim package). But yes definitely depends on a multitude of factors.

Anyone have any idea when these might be rolling out? No pun intended. Needing some new tires for the cold season and a road-friendly A/T sounds great to me since my truck stays on the pavement 98% of the time, but want the aggressive look. We don’t really get snow in Nashville, but we sure do get a lot of rain. I saw someone say April/May but not sure if I should keep running my stock tires for that long. Made in 2018 with 41,500 miles on them and definitely look worse for wear. Should I just go ahead with the AT3’s or hold out for the AT4’s? Was hoping to get them on next month.
