Hey everyone I have a 06 4.0 that has blown, I picked up a 2014 4.0 complete with a harness, other than EGR and cam sensors switching to three pin, is there anything else I will need to complete the swap? ECU?

Ditch everything but the block and heads.

Re-use the 2005 exhaust manifolds, intake and all bolt ons. Never use the donor harness.

It will bolt right in. Keep the extras as spares.

With the 14 having a 3 pin cam sensor and the 06 having a 2 pin would I keep the 06 cam sensor and valve cover ?

05-15 Tacoma 4.0l all have 3 wire (hall effect) cam sensors, only the ~04-05 4 Runner with the 4.0L had 2 wire (VR) cam sensors and different reluctors on the cam gears.

The major difference between the 05-11 and 12-15 4.0L in the Tacoma is the heads and exhaust manifolds on 12-15s have ports in them for the Secondary Air Injection System, the rest of the engine is mechanically the same.

I still recommend like @Bishop84 said use the wiring harness, sensors, and injectors original to your truck.

Do the heads have ports for air injection? I thought it was just the manifold has the runner for it. Drawing blanks.

I'm pretty sure they do in which case you would need manifolds from a 12-15 or some way to block off the ports in the head.

I think its manifold based, so ditch the updated and bolt it on. I'm pretty sure I've done it before. But its all fuzzy. I doubt the donor engine has the cats bolted to it.

Dang, you'd have to get a manifold to match and block it off.

Found a 14 head on ebay, it does have the ports in it.
I wonder if they are round, if they are I suppose you could find some freeze plugs the right size and knock them in assuming the hole pattern is the same on the manifolds.

I wonder if a machine shop could thread the ports and plug it with a fastener?

I mean if they are round ports there are options but if they are out of round options are limited, I can't really tell from the pictures.

Too many trucks and mods to list.. check builds
Use just the engine. The 06 will run it fine. The only thing you need to do is block off the SAIS ports on the heads. People have tapped threads into the ports and used set screws on the 4.7ls when deleting SAIS. Other option is custom header flanges
