NFL Trash Talkers Thread

The one gripe I have is with all the billions of schedule possibilities a computer can run through, they should try and further limit those advantage/disadvantages. The Chiefs played 4 straight games against teams either coming off a full bye or a previous Thursday game. So the ‘rest’ difference was either 10-7 or 14-7 four consecutive weeks. The Chiefs went 1-3 in that stretch. Not blaming it all on that, as the real problems with my team are well known. But they now have the computing power to eliminate all those types of things.

 

True but it’s never going to be fair when you factor in travel distances. At least KC is in the middle and never has a flight more than 1/2 the length of the country unless it’s overseas. For years SF has just stayed someplace in the East whenever we had consecutive road games back there to avoid those hella flights. And those Thursday games are funded by short weeks for those teams but it would look better if Thursday teams played other Thursday teams or teams coming off a bye. Chock it up to being so good you get the short stick a bit more often.

 

Yea, consecutive long travel weeks should also be eliminated.There are a quadrillion possible season combinations and enough computer power to eliminate those quickly.

 

Not to mention all the damn games out of the country, though I don't know offhand what teams and their before/after week but I have to figure that is a factor.

 

Curious to see if Bill Belichick is still in NE next year. Kinda hope so.

I think he’s tired of having weak QB’s. If it’s not Harbaugh, I think he is the top candidate for chargers. Not raiders, it’s just a trash organization. The Davis curse continues.

 

Which Harbaugh, the one that’s going to win the CFP National championship or the one that’s going to win the Super Bowl?

 

CFP. At least that’s what I’ve seen float around.

 

One last scheduling thought. There are rumors of an 18th game (dropping preseason to 2 games). If they do that they likely go back to 2 byes, it would then be possible (yes I already figured it out because I’m a bit nerdish) to ALWAYS have Thursday games follow byes for both teams. Also ALWAYS have a bye either before or after international games. Add in some protection for east/west coast teams traveling far on consecutive weeks and you are going to have healthier, rested, prepared players which only improves the quality of the games. Vote for me to be supreme ruler of NFL scheduling and I’ll make it so.

Also, I saw a post rooting for a Browns v Lions Superbowl. The only teams to ever go 0-16. If so, we take over Toledo with a massive tailgate.

 

Most would be but I think he lives to work. Bet he wants to go for some more coaching records.

Probably right re the QBs. I've always thought he and Kraft went to war over Tom vs Jimmy back then.

God I hope Miami upsets the bills. Granted I need Allen to put some fantasy points up, I’d love to see that upset happen tonight
