from everything I’ve seen I’ve determined that rcvs are just junk…. The fact you broke the axle before the add tube tells it all…

I must be doing things wrong. Broke 2 dirt king axles on 35’s and 4.56’s before switching to rcv’s and 37’s and 5.29’s. But I also rock crawl like a baby and hate wheel spin to avoid extra stress.

While doing koh prep I checked out the tolerances I gave myself for front bypass and bump clearance at droop. Look at them race tolerances lol. 2.5 c hairs is plenty to keep things safe lol.

yeah pretty easy for me to power through any bind with dual cases, and broke the other one last night doing donuts in the snow with all the wheel speed lol. I’m sure the one that broke last night has been cracked since when my other one broke. The weak point on the Rcvs is the outer star, it cracks and then strips the shaft

Got a pretty good cyclone donut going, heard a pop and smelt atf and thought I broke the tranny. Power steering was boiling over and couldn’t figure out what the popping was, then had the machine gun mod with the front locker on lmfao

Dual cases is definitely gonna make it easier to break stuff.

Hydros up front are pointless unless you’re bumping off the upper/spindle.

Oooof, I gotta disagree. UCA is clearly the ideal bump location. But pretty hard to beat a hydro in any location for the front.

Probably better than running no bumps

I mean, yeah you want something acting as a bump stop that’s not the shocks.

Have you seen the camburg LCA slapper bump? Pretty cool.

I have a fixed bump on my LCA, at 2” stroke. I’m shortening it to 1” because at ride height I’m about a half inch away from hitting the bump pad. It’s a struggle. But until cab/engine cage it’s what I have to do.

I have mine shortened to 1” and I can say, I cannot feel the bumps engage at all. All part of tuning. Treat them like a shock and you’ll be golden.

In other news. Getting some baseline numbers for the new steering setup and all I can say is wow.

I now know why the truck would steer its self if I came down hard on one side.

Currently have it down to about 1/2”. Going to see if I can get it even better.

I used to run those same bumps on my Lt, and I would smash the bolt head inside the bump on hard hits. Swapped to 1" hydros, and it was definitely better, plus can adjust pressure to make them exactly as you like

I think @snowsk8air2 ‘s tuning has allowed his bumps to survive
