I’m stuck. I guess new oem is discontinued at Toyota. No one else seems to carry bushings for the steering rack. All options shows for 4wd model only. Or 6 lug option. Mine is a 5 lug. Anyone able to source the bushings? I’d greatly appreciate the help.

Just spent some time digging multiple sources. And I came up with, no one makes bushings for the 5-lugs, and the OEM Racks are discontinued as well.

So, I’m not sure what options you have other than make your own bushings. Or buy an aftermarket rack.

Has anyone gotten this part to confirm fitment on their 5 Lug taco? It's pretty shitty that there isn't a polyurethane option. I originally bought the bushing set from energy suspension, then quickly realized upon inspection of my rack that it wasn't gonna work.

I am looking on Rockauto right now. It seems that TRW JBU2128 and Delphi TD4729W are the only ones for a 5 lug Taco. It really is unfortunate that poly isn't an option.

The poly's.....Sure you can....you have to trim down the vertical one a little ( the two halves)
and reuse ...(burn out) the old inner sleeve......you size/trim the height of those two halves to fit the old inner sleeve....

and then the hoop passenger side one is easy to trim down a little...

I did mine using the blue poly ones made in Australia.....the energy suspension are pretty much the same...

you will get a harsher feel.....but such is life.....

If you dont want any of that .....than these...

Can you tell me more, O'Silver_Taco? Did you use a 4wd/PreRunner bushing kit and trim to fit for a 5 lug? If that is the case, I can just order one from Rockauto.

I got an ebay kit like OST's pic above. The passenger side D bushing is the right fit (it is smaller than the 6 lug steering rack version), so presumably the driver side bushing is correct. However I could not get the nut off the driver side bolt with a cheater bar or impact, nor turn the bolt head. It was going to take heat, and I was afraid the bolt might be pressed or fused into the bushing's steel sleeve.

The nut is welded to top cross member...

SO...soak the threads from the top over nite...
try to get that into bushing to soak that inter sleeve.

And then I like the micro torches......heat that nut up little from above, and then bolt head from below...

Combination of over tightened......and then road salts.

And didnt buy the rubber ones above.....

I bought the blue Prothane ones made in Australia
.....basicly a knock off of the energy suspension ones,
    only in a softer compound.....

I had to shorten the vertical halfs and had to burn out and reuse old sleeve...to get correct width.
    and shorten the hoop

but if you dont know how to mod.....this is not for you
