That is half of a new dirt bike, or 5-7 weeks of camping/moto trips (usually spend 500-1000/week depending), start a little side business (buy shit low sell shit high, you can do a lot with $5K) or invest it, etc.

Despite the escalation in price as with most everything regardless, the creature comforts, multilink suspension, remote reservoirs, rear discs etc...will be appreciated if anyone was content with the 3rd gen as I am.

This is the "Please Refuel" message lol.

Those of us that like to live on the edge can get 20+ gallons easily.

Fully understandable as the 4.0 sounds like it'll blow up any moment above 3k.

It's eally difficult to know isn't it. I have run my Rav4 Hybrid to "0 miles remaining" and gone about 20 miles further, then refilled. But the refill cuts off before the tank is full. I never pump more after the cutoff, heard it can flood the vapor absorbing canister and shorten the life of the system. I'd have to actually run until the engine quits to know where true empty is, and apparently that can be a nightmare in the hybrid, it can refuse to start even after filling up. (but the error codes can be cleared by OBD-II scanner I believe).

Anyway, in normal use, there is an unknown quantity of gas remaining in the tank when you fill it, and unknown unfilled capacity when full. Ugh. Given the small tank in the Tacoma realtive to its mpg, I'd be carrying filled gas cans in the bed but that isn't really a good solution to extending range onroad, because you still have to pull over to use the gas can. May as well pull over in a gas station and fill up the tank.

Sounds like crap at all RPMs especially at idle with it’s ticking.

With the 3.5, I close my eyes and pretend it is a diesel… :p

For full effect, stick one of these candles in the cup holder and light it. :D

Got an email reply from the dealer today. I had asked when they would have a G4 to look at.

They had a Sport built yesterday in Mexico. They are expecting it in late February / Early March. It will be shipped via the Gulf of Mexico.

Thought this info might be of interest.

Yep, my allocation was supposed to be in transit on the 9th via train, not sure where some here are getting there's earlier unless dealer is blowing smoke. Still 50/50 on if I'll buy it.

My SR5 allocation is "end of February" at the dealer. But I think I prefer TRD OR if I buy at all. (versus Tundra, 2024 Colorado/Canyon, F-150, etc., undecided!)

I think the background pic is from an Audi engine, where the timing chains are on the back of the engine facing the firewall.

    Funny didn’t even notice.

Looks similar, but different, not sure what that engine is.

I think we need a few months for the pipeline to fill.

About $2.80 here in CT @ Costco. I consider that to be sky high. Don't inflate your baseline, ignore the last 3 years of tomfoolery. Ditto for these truck prices. Sky high.

They've been doing it even before the EV transition. Petrol vehicles will be around even for your great great great great grand kids.
