Hello TW: Sharing some photos of my 1st gen which I have had since 2016. The journey with this truck has been an interesting one. DM me with questions. I have been a member here since 2016 and this is my first post.

1997, DLX, 5VZ, 5spd, 243k mi, Creme 557 paint, custom graphics by B.L.Vinyl, '92 pickup wheels, leveling kit/General Spring HD leafs, Ranchos, IS300 ST Whl/Rav4 airbag cover. Full engine overhaul by Toy House, Tampa in 2022 with a used 5VZ w/114k mi.

The inspiration for the design is based on the beloved 80-early 90's pickups. I wanted to pay homage to that style truck.

My check engine light has turned back on, and P0420 brought its friend P0115. Oh well, it was fun while it lasted.

    I don't think they're related.

P0420 is exhaust/emissions related. Failed catalytic converter, exhaust leak, failed oxygen sensor. I've been living with that code for a long time. Already tried replacing the oxygen sensor (no change). Tried cleaning the MAF (code went away for a few days then came back). I know I have some exhaust leaks and the parts to fix them arrived at my doorstep today so fingers crossed that'll take care of it.

P0115 is a coolant temperature sensor malfunction. After letting the engine cool down (the sensor is somewhat buried on the back of the head of a 3RZ) I checked and found that its connector was loose. The retaining clip on the harness side is broken. Fingers crossed that'll take care of it and maybe I can find a replacement connector at the junkyard.

Anyone know what this half ass attached resistor I found in the driver kick panel might be for?

Should be to isolate door lock trigger wire from an alarm or remote start. Get me a few pictures I can look that up at work tomorrow if you need more help.

    Think that's a diode not a resistor.

Oh shit... could I have maybe found why my remote's stopped working a while back?! I found another wire near it that was a little bare too. I'll text you.

    Google says you are correct.

Moved one of the horns to the driver side and moved the condenser line to in front of the vertical support to get ready for the trans cooler install some time between now and summer.

Wow Dude! Nice! Does the factory grill even fit over all that?

Like a charm. No cutting at all and utilized all the factory clips

    Just 3 tons of fun!!!
Finished wiring the rear winch this weekend.

    20231231_163132.jpg 20240108_160848.jpg

Got the rear hubs packed, ebrake shoes installed, calipers and rotors installed, the rear brake lines finished, and bled the brakes... Will need to bleed them again, as we found a couple leakers but it was already getting dark and cold, so we quit lol.

We were able to run the new ebrake cables towards the front, to figure out where the bracket/splitter will go and how much room I was working with. Ordered the bracket/splitter, I think will work, last night.

    20240108_160840.jpg

Also drilled all the heads of the bolts on the Ubolt eliminator plates for safety wire.

Nice, with that large supply wire for the winch, do you have any plans to add an Anderson plug at the rear of the truck for jumper cables? They come in handy at times.
