I have a 23 SR5 with power driver seat. It took me weeks to get the seat in a comfortable location. Then my wife used the truck for a couple of months (leased). It has taken me month to get it comfortable again.

I got a new 2024 Tacoma and within a few days, horrible neck pain. The seat puts you in a C posture and the headrest causes you to jut your head forward. I'm a chiropractor and realize that when your head is forward, your neck and shoulder muscles work much harder. This past weekend, my wife sat shotgun as we went on a mini-vacation. Only a 90 minute drive each way - I drove... and by the time we got home, she had excruciating neck pain. This confirmed it is the seat and not how we drive... scrunching to see what color the light is, etc. (she didn't drive). Removing the headrest feels great, but could be neck breaking if you get rear-ended. Turning it around would also remove that protection. I'm wondering if Toyota has another optional headrest...???

"I'm wondering if Toyota has another optional headrest."

Turn the head rests backwards. Add an inflatable vinyl pillow as headrest and hold in place with long velcro straps. Inflate just enough for whiplash protection. Avoid bungy cords. Been doing this on trucks and rental cars for decades.

Yeah... that is good... turning it around by itself felt unsafe - but adding a little cusion... to get it right... thank you for the suggestion. I'm going to use this one until I find a headrest that I can make look stock.

You might wrap the assembly in a stitched fabric cover. Similar to 3rd party seat cover headrest covers.

Funny, I didn't know there was such a thing. I just looked them up and saw some that look like winter hats. I'm going to try that out with a winter hat and some padding... I think that might be a winner until I can get some true custom headrests that work and match the car. Thank you.
