Just FYI- if I click that link in your first post, it brings me up as $CAD, even if I switch it to USD on your home page.

If I go to your website separately, the overall price is different too. There's also shipping price discrepancies, the first one shows $15 to ship, the second one shows $19.xx to ship to the exact same address. (Prob the currency conversion)

And none of them show up as $240 that you have listed in the first post, lowest I see is $250USD.

 

yes it is conversion rate our dollar sucks compared to the green backs.

 

had some issues with my computer but they are being made as we speak so hoping for the end of may !!!!!

I received my order.

Much to my surprise, the instructions tell me that I have to destroy my stock shifter to cannibalize parts to fit this to my truck. And to get the parts needed off the stock shifter I have to break it in two using a vice and a pipe wrench or cut in two with a saw/torch/etc.

Really!

A used one is ~$100 US.

I cannot find anything about this in this thread and I sure did not see anything about this on your web site.

I am sorry if you missed read or was miss informed


but in most cases the you can rip the top off take the caller with a pipe wrench or just cut to return the shifter back to stock you just fill the stock shifter back with urethane or polly pour


so far every one has loved the shifter and if I changed it to like b&m you could never really never rebuild it with oem toyota parts nore would it self center or take up for bushing ware because of lack of a spring.

Here's yet another question for you.

I find that the shift lever/bar that one grasps to move from one gear to another tends to "walk". By this I mean that it does not remain in place; it moves mostly forward, over time, and I have to pull it back into the position I prefer.

There is no way I can tighten the nut on the black (plastic?) bit that is responsible for holding this unit in place any further.

So, what is the trick to keep this thing in one position, permanently?

if you mean by the knuckle moving try going for a drive let the shifter heat up and get it up to temp then tighten it some more. if this is still an issue only other option is grip paste/carbon paste found at a pedal bike shop at this point usely some people just don't tighten it enough to begin with or just really really mean to their transmission's. if you have any other issues fee free to get back to me

 

I've got more than 100 lbs. of torque on it and it still slips. and, I'm anything but harsh on my vehicles. Tacoma manual gear boxes are anything but smooth, in my experience. VW's, on the other hand, are like butter. I'm not convinced that heat will do much good in any adjustment process. I live in the desert and when its 115+ the inside of the vehicle is more than warm and that is when I last tried to tighten it more. I fear that I will crack/crush that black block that is that is doing the clamping if I go any further.

I will try your suggestion about the grip/carbon paste and let you know...

 

mine never slips some times certain angle's just don't shift well and will slip from natural force angles but grip past fixes the issues most of the time from testing. is it slipping on teh post or knuckle ?

 

any fallow up to this or did it resolve your issue by applying carbon paste

 

We may have a stand alone unit that may be coming out soon or stand alone upgrade kit might be an option as well
