I prefer to drive 100-200 ft in front of the plows. No morons and the least amount of salt around.

I expected a bad game to actually watch fitting for this season but what an awesome experience to be at a game with constant snow. Kept the leaf blower boys busy clearing yardage and sidelines.

Yeah, I hate that saying too for that reason.

Reality is if you know what you're doing, transfer case-based 4WD can be helpful for slowing down or maintaining speed in bad conditions too. You get two axles of engine braking instead of one.

Yup, was able to maintain my speed and basically change the torque going to the wheels with the gear I was in instead of braking most of yesterday. Very convenient

Im surprised they did well. The skinny falken at3's do way too well in the snow at full street pressure. Makes it hard to switch.

To be fair the MT Baja Boss's and Kenda RT's supposedly also do very well.

I've heard those Patagonias do well..
I've had the Wildpeaks, agree, they do very well I this crap.
Running Goodyear UltraTerrains now(2nd set, first was on my Frontier), same as the Wildpeak.
Have the Kenda RT on my diesel. O
I think one isnt round, and they take a lot of weight to come something close to balanced(they won't balance IMHO). However, they do very well in most conditions.

Good to know. I think Im leanin towards the Baja Bosses but they are expensive and hard to find. Probably dont need to deal with it for another year or two anyways.

To be fair, with the Kendas, I can't find any real complaints. I'm running the 35x12.5-17s.
They aren't bad, and I've had them road forced, and everything else, and they always come up good.
Had my buddy's driveline shop go through everything.
Honestly, I'm likely being picky about nothing(1 ton diesel 4x4 with a flatbed), which, I've heard a few times... so, take it with a grain of salt....

I ran Nokian Hakka R3s on the last truck. The prices I was getting for new Nokians were crazy, though - well over $300/tire. So I went with Blizzak DM-V2s this time. I'm impressed so far.

The Blizzaks actually seem better than the Nokians in acceleration and braking performance. The Nokians held grip better around corners, though, and were quieter. The Blizzaks can make some really weird noises in certain situations.

I was fully expecting them to suck since they're ass in the rain, but I didn't lose traction unless I was trying to all day. You could see snow packing in the lugs and staying, and the compound on them is soft, very impressed by them

You can't pass a gang plow or whatever it's called, but you can pass "other" plows, legally. I think some states count them as emergency vehicles and you can't overtake them.

In RI (at least in East Prov), they have right of way, period. They can blow stop signs (and do, dangerously) because they have the right of way

True, the gang plow I wasn't about to chance it with in those conditions.

Christmas miracle. After everything I was able to pop out the fender and all that remains is a golf ball sized one I'm going to either suction cup or hot cold pop. Can't find any significant scratches. Tonne cover is a beast. If you told me when I saw that tree on top of my truck, this is all the damage I would not have believed you. Maybe I'll write one of those dear Toyota letters.
