    I feel like I saw a video of Kirk Hammet playing it recently?

    I saw the thumbnail for it, but didnt click..... seems a lot of bands are jumping on the coffee/liquor wagon lately.... I think Deftones have a tequila brand.
    Can't fault them for financial diversification I suppose.

    I saw Metallica maybe 2 years ago. And he uses it onstage for a song or two.

    speaking of Les Pauls…
    I’ve been a lurker here, never shared in this thread.

    but, here’s my Gibson LPJ;

    And here is my Epiphone Les Paul;

    She’s going into a local shop this coming week to get cleaned up, and I’m replacing the current bridge pickup(a Seymour Duncan Super Distortion) with this baby right here:

    Nice, what's that Dimebucker's output? I am betting it's pretty hot.

    I did a thing. Figured out how to install a Bigsby in this little LP here. Have been wanting to learn how to play with some kinda Tremolo system for awhile so fuck it this guitar was the chosen one and it is easily reversible. It's working flawless so far.

    If I am being honest, it really didn't come out the way I wanted to do it, however, I do feel like I helped it to become what it wanted to be?
    The buzzing was fret out on Higher frets. Corrected it, but the relief for the neck still needs a little tweeking. The pocket for the control plate is a bit too small for the new electronics, new pots are much larger diameter than the factory, and needs to be opened up a bit. this should correct that Ground issue. There is factory Conductive paint in the pocket and Fralin said if the pots touched it, it would cause a ground issue. Gonna get in there and open her up a touch. I did sit and noodle with it uplugged this weekend and it is coming together nicely, and teaching me a few things along the way.

    According to what I found on SD’s official listing for the pickup;
    IMG_4054.jpg

    She’s being dropped off tomorrow, so long as work doesn’t 86 my plans.

    I will happily report back once I’ve done my own testing and brought her home.

    I used to play through a Line6 Flextone HD, with a Peavey 4x12 5150 slant cabinet.
    But, I’ve paired down a lot of my gear.
    Now, I’ve got an Orange Crush 35RT combo(she’s loud!).
    And I have a small rack case with my Sabine strobe tuner, Alesis noise gate/limiter, BBE Sonic Maximizer and a Furman Power Conditioner.

    I can’t wait to crank her up.

    PS. Your Bigsby tremolo looks good.
    How does it feel when you play? Solid?
    I’ve never gotten the hang of the Bigsby systems.

    I was always a metal & punk rock guy. I know my way around a Floyd Rose pretty well. But, a Bigsby is something else.

    I mostly like to finger pick and play dirty blues now, but I am a music whore. I love it all. Punk was my first influence when I was a teenager and I was in a band or two. I'm really into noise rock and sludge like Crowbar right now.

    I just started using this Bigsby. It's different. My only other experience with a Trem was a PRS and I hated it with a strat style bridge. I didnt like it, but that was a long time ago.

    This Bigsby just bolted right up and worked. Honestly thought it was going to be a bitch to set up, but no, damn thing works great! I have a lot to learn about it, bjt it's pretty fun though. Good to have more options.

    I know what you mean about pairing down. I mostly stick to 20w and 10" or 60w and a 12". I bought one of those Positive Grid little micro speakers shits and I use that more than anything now. I can make it sound like any amp and pedal combo. Fits in my pocket so I can play anywhere. Awesome for practice.

    Cool, that you got in there and started working on it. Not many people work on their own stuff now. It looks good from what I can see.

    If sludge is your thing, check out "Pigs pigs pigs pigs pigs pigs pigs". (Yes, its 7 pigs and that's what they go by, no abbreviations.) Their song "Big Rig" is a good starter. Saw them on KEXP... I was really impressed. BIG DARK FUZZ
