There’s no drama when I go over a speed bump or pot hole. I know I don’t have what he’s looking for. I’m just sharing mine rides great but I actually will switch to tuned kings next.

The Kings do not require it. Same with ADS and Icon to my knowledge. It would be a pointless piece of rubber that will fail long before the shock.

I’ve got p rated terra grapplers and arb bumper with winch and ext. travel kings with superbumps. I attack speed bumps or rough fields with some good throttle, I love the front end. Makes me realize how much the rear end needs work :annoyed:

You just want soft springs that won’t wrap. Stock springs are actually very soft but don’t have much travel and they wrap. A good test is to remove the shocks and bounce the rear. With stock or Deavers I can bounce the rear to the bumps with one hand and little effort. The shock placement, valving, and most importantly tires play a huge role.

Back to the tire thing. From what I understand Shocks don’t have enough time to fully react to sharp, quick bumps in the road. The tires are first to come in contact with it so they need to be able to react under the weight of the vehicle. A Tacoma doesn’t weigh enough for the Load Es to flex like they need to.

I have an almost identical setup. Did you jump to 650's? How many threads are you showing on each end w/ the 600s? Im installing 650s today

They're covered in slushy winter gunk but I have plans to wash the truck Wednesday and will get back with you. I have not upgraded to 650's yet so I'm really curious to see how you like them on your similarly setup DCLB

I thought the same about my OME BP51. It has done incrementally better with each bit of weight added. This includes a camper, pelfrey front bumper, and dual batteries. Still intend to add sliders but it’s no damn cloud!!

I found the ride quality to be similar to stock when driving around the city. Offroad, the ride quality is much improved. On King 2.5, 600 spring, ome heavy, and e load tires.

Calling this one back up. Just wondering if the op smoothed out the edges at all. I’m currently ironing out the wrinkles of my build as well. This thread had some good info. Cheers everyone!

Feel free to open up that conversation with our sales team also. Since you purchased from us, we are happy to revalve the shocks (free) if you would like to go that route.

Small chatter-like terrain can be tough to tune out without making the shocks too soft and squishy. What type of tires are you running? Load range?
